ROUND #1 Results

The Pirates of the Caribbean lead after round #1 with 2 impressive wins. First the human Heroes of the Interceptor out finessed their elven opponents in a 3-0 win. The the undead Cursed of the Black Pearl used their power to outslug the Wasteland Warthogs 3-0. The undead pirate fans helped to decimate the Orc team.

The Dancing Mutations are in 2nd thanks to the dodgeing zons of Webcomic Chicks. However, after 3 RIPs the team is looking to recover vs some softer opposition.

The Dark Warriors and Dungean Dwellers share 3rd and 4th place as they managed to split their 2 1st round games.

The 1st round was brutal as 6 out of the 16 teams are below 100STR going into round #2. It will be interesting strategy to see who Ug, Shaq, and Gert choose for their 2nd round opponents.

Come Get Some More!

Hey all you teams looking for a nice, soft game: think Khemri!

We proved it last round, even the Dorfs outrun us. What could be easier than that?

Think outside the box (and we'll put you in one....)!

Weight Room Junkies 1 - 2 Cursed Of The Black Pearl

The night started off fine as Avatar set up to kick when receiving. He recovered well and was about to cage up until a faile 3+ dodge with a ghoul laid him out. It would turn out to be the last important roll he would miss on the night. After a quick skink score we set up on defence and held until T8, when a chain push freed up a Skel who had caught a bouncing ball (yes you heard that right) and handed off to a ghoul for the TD (no rrs).

Meanwhile both teams had sacked the ref and 2 Saurus were hurt.

Second half at 1-1 and we burn both RRs immediately. Outnumbered 11-9 we spent most of the half falling down then getting back up to pick up the ball. T7 a Saurus double pow/skulled and opened the door for another T8 dodge for the game winning undead TD.

I suck

Aaarrrgh!

It was a glorious match! The Black Pearl arrived in the nick of time for kick-off and as such her accursed crew failed to notice that they were receiving and not kicking off. The crew recovered smartly however and the match was on. It looked bad at first as Hawksmore the blodger of a ghoul tried to dodge away ta where his teammates could cage him in. Unfortunately he tripped over his own two feet rolling a 1,1 and was stunned. Slimfast the skink rushed in to scoop up the ball as the rest of the lizards knocked down anyone who even had a chance of reaching the ball carrier. Slimfast scored easily next round.

The Cursed received and quickly set up a cage just in lizard territory. On the next turn Bo’sun the wight trips going for it (even with a reroll) and leaves the ball carrier open ta the blitz. Luckily, Dog Ear the skeleton grabbed the loose ball and was able ta hold onto it until turn 8 when he handed it off ta Hawksmore for the touchdown.

Second half was all about hitting and positioning as a skink dropped back deep out of reach and looked for an open receiver. Mully burned through his rerolls pretty quick trying ta find an opening in the undeads defense. Fortunately, just about everything worked for him until his last play of the match. This includes several skinks picking up the ball in tackle zones and a host of dodges. The undeads were rolling pretty well also as they were able ta get the POWS on the skinks when they needed em. On the last turn the skinks couldn’t bring down the wight Maximo and he dodged away for the winning touchdown.

The Cursed of the Black Pearl would like ta thank Mully for a great match and for teaching them a few curses that made even the zombies blush.

Rainbow Killaz 2 - 1 Heroes Of the Interceptor

<Mully> Ouch Nuffle not so hard
<GameAvatar> Ouch Nuffle not so fast

Well, Nuffle was a true bitch this game. No one was spared.

The game started off innocently enough with the Heroes scoring nicely in 3 turns. In between, they started off the fouling festivities which was met with viciousness by the Norse when the retaliatory foul sent a catcher to the BH box.

Next turn and everything went to shit, starting with a blow by Hero Jack Sparrow which killed blitzer Yellow Sun Stalker. Not to fear, the apoth is out there ready to "fail"! After a 1D block to bring down the ball carrier, the Norse responded by taking down the human blitzer. Unfortunately, the crowd threw it to within 2 squares of MY endzone.

After a failed pickup and 2 GFIs by the heroes, the Norse were ready to try a pass in T8 for the equalizer. Catcher Indigo Is Gone smoothly went upfield, rolled a 1 GFI rr 1 and fell, niggling himself in the process and ensuring he would never see a bloodbowl pitch again.

After halftime the KOed lineman stayed in the box leaving us with 8 pathetic souls for the 2nd half, down 1-0. Apparently it was at this point that Nuffle had enough of my hairy ass and he went after GameAvatar. Now .... I've never seen Avatar's ass but apparently it's pretty good since Nuffle spent quite a long time on it in the 2nd half.

A gambling blitz in T1 by the Heroes left blizter Moises on the sidelines exposed. (GameAvatar must have been getting used to those 1D pows). A single blitz later and Moises was no more.

After another nice take away by the Heroes, the Killaz were able to regain posession and score thanks to a failed dodge by the Heroes' catcher.

At 1-1, Nuffle was enjoying himself in the Heroes KO box and wouldn't let anyone out. The Norse now outnumbered the Humies 8-7 for the 1st time in the game. In T2, the Hero Catcher failed another dodge and BHed himself. Meanwhile we KOed another lineman to reduce their numbers to 5.

Two KOs and a crowd push later and there were 2 Heroes left on the pitch. Yes Nuffle was riding Avatar hard .....but he wasnt quite threw yet. After the Killaz strolled in for the T8 TD, we set up vs 5 Humies and ...........BLITZ!

ahhhh Nuffle was done. After the final whistle sounded he could be heard whispering, "I'll see you 2 Biatches on the pitch next week."

The Dungeon Report, Part Deux

Warpfire Lightning 4 - 0 Wasteland Warthogs

Well, this one turned out about how one might have expected. I don't mind telling you we were a bit nervous when Gert got the dreaded "That Babe's Got Talent" handicap, but with only eight players, three of them painfully slow, the Warthogs had a hard time getting or keeping control of the ball against the much faster, and fully manned, Skaven team. Add the fact that, except for the first drive, the game was played in the pouring rain and you have a recipe for disaster for the Orcs.

Throughout most of the first half we even out-hit the Orcs, although eventually our armor began to break as AV7 is wont to do; still, there were no serious injuries or deaths on either side. Nuffle did, however, manage to do what the Warthogs couldn't and niggled one of my Gutter Runners while we were stretching his legs out for him.

Tomorrow we plan to see whether Gert can return the favor and run circles around my Khemri or whether the mummies can lay the smack down and even Gertwise's teams out for him....

Khamaseen 1 - 2 Lords Of Lilly Fields

Well, it turns out both predictions came true. Gert's Elves ran circles around us (occassionally stopping to trip over their own feet) and we laid some smack down and evened his teams out for him. To whoever plays him next, "You're welcome".

Game started out well enough with skellie Wsir picking up the ball and, when surrounded by elves, handing off to Mehir who didn't exactly dash down the field but did move fast enough with the help of his teammates (and Elven lineman Sweet Patootie who knocked himself out trying to blitz Mehir) to score the team's first TD.

All our hard work was undone as three of the four Elves KO'd in the first drive recovered for the second although, given later events, I'm not sure it would have made a lot of difference if they hadn't. The Lords managed to open up a hole for their catchers by successfully one-die blocking a skellie and although we tried to contain them, Mehir tripped GFIing and thus failed to close the box, letting them block our skellies away, deliver an unguarded pass and run in the tying TD. With two turns left in the half there wasn't much chance we were going to score but an Elven blitz caused a few tense moments as the dodgy little bastards flooded our backfield and tied up our players, threatening to open up what would almost certainly be an insurmountable lead. The Khemri, however, managed to get enough players on the ball to keep the dirty little Elvish hands off it for two turns; Lineelf Pansy also helped, knocking himself down trying to blitz and scatter the ball.

The Elves started out the second half with a play similar to the one that brought them quick results in the first half but Lineelf Sweetness misstepped, failing to notice that skellie Hrihor was still standing next to him, and fell down, stunning himself and turning what would likely have been another quick TD into a protracted struggle for control of the ball. The Khemri knocked the ball loose in the Elves' backfield but we weren't able to get enough players to it quickly enough to retain control and a dodgy little git snatched it away. Fortunately, he botched the pass and we were in a better position to try and get the ball at mid-field where our players were. The Elves managed to bounce the ball out of our cage but we recovered and our Thro-Ra Khaemet grabbed the ball and tried to hand-off to skellie Zemti putting it up for grabs again (maybe I should've listened to my opponent and tried passing to a mummy further downfield -- this seemed a surer way to score but that might've put the ball out of the Elves reach and ensured a tie....). An Elf grabbed the ball and bobbled it, but a nearby teammate was there to recover. I believe three different mummies and a skeleton tried to hit this ball carrier and managed nothing better than a pushback. The ballcarrier still standing with control of the ball at the end of my turn, a teammate opened a spot for the bastard to dodge into and he was away, passing to an Elf near the endzone (who didn't catch it but the guy next to him did) for the winning TD.

On the plus side, our skellie Mehir learned to block (you can all thank Mully for banning Dirty Player as I likely would've taken that otherwise....) and we picked up a blitz-ra helmet to add some more blocking power and much needed speed to the team. With any luck we'll have all of our positionals in two more games and the Lightning ought to have a Rat Ogre in one. Better challenge us now, while you still have some hope.

C'mon Shaq. You know you want some of this.....

ROUND #2 Results

The Pirates of the Caribbean still lead after round #2 with 9 points. Cursed of The Black Pearl is carrying the load at 2-0.

Ug's Uneasy Alliance moved into second after going 1-1-0 vs Shaq's Dancing Mutations. They are tied with the Dark Warriors and Dungeon Dwellers in a 3 way tie at 6 points.

Other than Black Pearl, the Power Drinkers (dwarf) and Warpfire Lightening (skaven) are the last undefeated teams left.

Sule (spirit or wind) is the league stud so far with 22 SPPs in 2 games. Someone needs to tell him there is no "I" in team.

The Basher's and Dashers BC Mautu Gornth looks like an MVP hog with 12 SPPs through 2 games. (well he's a crowd favorite at least)

Diamond's star wardancer He who prays also is at 12 SPPs. But he has earned his way with 3 TDs and 3 completions.

I think there should be a way for my teams to play each other till they recover from Nuffle's curse, but since that isn't gonna happen...

Wasteland Warthogs want to molest the Webomic Chicks

And Lords of the Lilly Fields will hopefully be able to create a winning dance ensemble against the Twisted Kaiju Theater.

(And keep their hair fasionable and clothes looking good at the same time. Playing against those nasty undead was quite the dilemma. They don't even have hair to style....yuck!!)

See ya on the field Shaq

The Dungeon Report, Part III: Day of the Dead

Khamaseen 2 - 1 Heroes Of the Interceptor

The game started off with a bad kick which allowed the Humans to give the ball to one of their Catchers, Kursar, near the line and a blitz by Jack Sparrow opened the way for Kursar and put him in scoring range. The Heroes then positioned themselves well enough that it was clear that the TD was going to happen and there was no way Khamaseen could stop it, so we advanced as far as we could, threatened a number of the opposing players with mummies, and waited for the inevitable. I don't know if GameAvatar planned to stall or not (as it turns out even one turn would have done it) but a double skull roll on his first block of the next turn convinced him not to try anything else and Kursar ran in a turn 2 TD.

Dispirited (even a one point lead looks semi-insurmountable to Khemri) the Tomb Kings set up again. A fan in the stands tossed out a bit of one of the ancient pyramids and stunned Heroes' Thrower Duncan, the mummies laid a bit of smack down and then Thro-ra Khaemhet went to pick up the ball and dropped it; if we had hearts they would have fallen. The humans flooded into our side of the field until Lineman Krimp tripped over his own feet trying to get out of the way of Khamaseen's mummies and we were decidedly nervous; if Khaemhet fumbled again the Humans would almost certainly score next turn and that would be the game. Fortunately (for us) not only did Khaemhet manage not to fumble the ball but he even lobbed a quick pass to skellie Zemti, who instantly ran for the protection of his mummy. A brief midfield scuffle ensued in which Lineman Quartetto received a serious concussion (treated by the Heroes' apothecary) from Khamaseen mummy Ankh-Psamtek, the ball was knocked loose, and human players began flying off the field into the KO box. Finally some strategic blocking allowed Khaemhet to grab the ball and run downfield under the protection of his teammates. When catcher Matelot knocked himself out trying to dodge through a tacklezone early in the next turn our way to the endzone and the tying TD was more or less cleared. The Heroes rookie Catcher The Cabinboy was killed in the closing moments of the half by a block from Skellie Zemti, who was promptly KO'd by the Heroes and decided to stay in the KO box for the rest of the game, fearing the Humans' wrath.

The second half was largely unremarkable, other than for some impressively bad dice-rolling by the Heroes. Outmanning and overpowering the diminished Human team (they had eight players to field with 2 staying in the KO box and one in the RIP) the Khemri marched the ball down the field in five turns and then stalled another three before scoring with the Heroes, between bad rolls and being further reduced through KOs, never able to get a block in on the ball-carrier.

A huge game for the Khemri, their first win also saw three skill gains: block on two of our mummies and an agility upgrade on thro-ra Khaemhet. The team is further enhanced by the acquiring of another thro-ra helmet, which should help some with ball handling.

Cursed Of The Black Pearl 2 Warpfire Lightning 1

The stage was set for a mighty clash between two of the undefeated teams competing for the crown. The rodents of Warpfire Lightning VS the dead pyrates of Cursed Of The Black Pearl.

The hands of Black Pearl won the toss and settled in ta receive the ball. The long voyage ta the rats decrepit stadium had dulled their reactions however. This delay was just enough that the rats were able ta blitz in and scuttle the undeads meticulous setup before the ball even hit the pitch. All was not lost however as the undeads grabbed control of the ball and started ta grind their way down the pitch.

It was a glorious battle with sacrifices on both sides. Raanane Fleascratcher (linerat) received a concussion kocking her out for the remainder of this match and the next. Damek Mansbane tripped over his own tail and cracked his head giving him a concussion also. For the Pearl, Pintel the zombie was badly hurt and would not be able ta return. Ketchum the skeleton was also badly hurt but regenerated in time to join the next drive.

Maximo the wight managed ta sneak into the endzone leaving the rats with no time for a touchdown of their own. Pearl up over Lightning 1-0.

Second half starts with the rats receiving. As soon as the ball hits the pitch the rats take ta the four corners, spreading the undeads defense thin. Moments later the rats pull off a nice passing play and Emek Deathscreech scores for the Lightning. Score tied at 1-1.

The undeads set up ta receive the ball. Eager ta recreate the drive of the first half the undead shamble relentlessly ta the goal. Mercilessly the undeads tear through the rats roster. Clubba the mummy smashes Betzalel Twitchclaw lifeless into the pitch. Unfortunately, the apothecary was ready and able to stitch him back together. Raam Whiptail is the next ta fall after being roughly smacked in the face and breaking his jaw. Also badly hurt is Emek Deathscreech the rat who dared ta step into the endzone.

With little time remaining Katracho runs in for the touchdown. The Pearl goes up 2-1 and the rats scurry about in dismay as time runs out.

The Cursed Of The Black Pearl learned quite a bit from the match, as five players picked up new skills afterwards.

The Black Pearl sails back ta the high seas and waits for the next landlubbers foolish enough ta go looking for the Jolly Roger.

DEAD SIMPLY DEAD 2-1 Weight Room Junkies

Or, in other words, Mully's legendary diary of bitching vol #XXXII

The necro chopped some skinks and big saurus too! In the first turn, 1 skink and 1 saurus got SI. Then, Mully decided to do the same to one of my Wolf. The other one got mad, really mad and decided to win the game by himself scoring twice and injuring 1. as for the rest, same old same old. we both had 2 RR....that were used after 2 turns!!!

Maybe you should try not yelling at your guys for a change...then again, you would not be the Mully we all know and most love!!!

Rainbow Killaz 0 - 2 Wishfull Thinking

The Reptillac Frenzy continued its decent to the bottom of the standings with another pathetic performance vs Wishfull Thinking. Another game, another shutout and the coach is going to get sacked. Rumors that he has been sleeping with both the Rainbow boys AND skinks are enough to warrant the termination.

With the bashy teams still left on the schedule for the reamining rounds, one can only wonder if this alliance can win ANY games.
