I don't think it's useless. If you lose players, you may want to reorganize and renumber. I think it's a good idea. |

I'll third that motion. I like to keep a well oprdered roster with the linemen first etc, but have accidentally purchased new players and put them as number 3 etc.
A well ordered roster is so much easier to look over, both by the coach and by possible opponents. Of course some might see this as a way to confuse other coaches  |

Would also be nice to be able to edit your players' names to add nicknames - e.g. the skaven that gets big hand from Jimmy Nailz to Jimmy "the Hand" Nailz |

Why would you ever need to Re-Number!?!
You can choose the number when you purchase them... just use common sense about how you want the roster to end up.

What about AFTER you have started the team? You save up to get that new Big Guy that you want, who as we all know, should be #1  but that crappy lineman with 2 SPP has the spot. What do you do? |

What if you start a dark elf team with 11 linemen? You want spots 1-2 for Witch Elves, 3-6 for blitzers and 7-8 for throwers.
If you start the linemen at the highest possible numbers, they'll take up spots 6-16. So you'll need to get rid of the linemen at 6-8 to get the setup you want. |
