Is it negative or soft playing for a tie? I think it's a legitimate course of action in some games. Should I be ridiculed for playing this way? Don't get me wrong I want to win, but if theres a bigger chance of losing when trying for the win, why not take the tie? Am I wrong to think this way?

Me too. I will not risk a 5+ dodge, a 5+ pick up, a 4+ dodge and a 5+ pass followed by a 3+ catch.

And I will not leave my backfield open to turn 16 counterattacks should the above moves fail...

I play to win...and will make those crazy plays if there is still a chance. Even if it means I might lose.

I dont think its soft and you should Not!!! be ridiculed for playing for a tie. More often than nit I would go for the win against the odds beacuse the few times it does succeed, its oh so great! Laughing However if your playing a tournament and its much worse to get zero points for loss than just getting one point for draw, then to me its a clear cut case, ofcourse you go for the draw.

Some of my best performances have been ties, where things have gone horribly wrong and I've still clung on.

I play to win. Always. I respect the ones trying to tie when choosing between winning/loosing but I could never do that. One of the reason I don´t stall much. Yes you give the opponent the ball but also giving yourself a chance to score again.

I play tournament games most of the time and there are games that a tie means losing a title and I'm forced to risk for the win that way.

Atherwise a tie is not so bad.

I often play securely if I'm facing a good coach, I'm still doing my best to score but I make sure that I maintain a very strong and defensive cage and doesn't take any risks with the ball.

@Nordmark and Wizard:
It´s turn 6 2nd half (you recieved). You are back 0-1. Your dwarves have the ball and can score against those dodgy Highelves.
According to your comments, you never play for a tie and always score. So I guess you would score now and try to turn over the ball and score in 2 turns, right?

I am very seldom pleased by a tie, but it happens.

My latest game with the rats shows you can win with all hell happening to your team, just wanted to show it off. Smile
