If you use Firefox - goto addons -> get more -> search for Chatzilla -> install -> restart firefox -> and press chat on fumbbl.com -> press the first link. Then you will have a small very stabile irc client running inside your browser 
It works like a charm for just chatting (which is all we use it for on fumbbl) |

yeah, well try downloading firefox, some people say its better than internet explorer, i see no difference really!

Are you blind?
Let's get back to the problem.
Do you found out WHY your IRC client doesn't work?
Does it work at all (with no firewall)?
What is the problem? Are you sure that it is your Hydra who is blocked?
Is irc.fumbbl.com responding on the irc port? |

to answer all the questions
i cant use firefox, my computer has a system which forbbids games of any type while a new internet server is in place, since internet explorer was in place when i started, thats the only one allowed
the problem with my irc is that my firewall blocks acsess some times and not others
no the server dosent work without zonealarm on, if anything, nothing works!
yes i am sure hydra is blocked, its been like this for too bloody long!
when i load, it connects, uses my username, and before anything else, packs in on me saying...(irc.fumbbl.com Blocked By Zone Alarm Security), and i know no way around it
and no im not blind, just confused! |

Are you able to configure the Zone Alarm to not block the given port?
If yes try to fool your Zone Alarm with use of HTTP proxy and check whether the Socket Error 10060 solution will work for you. |

My question was addressed at brownrob (whose post I quoted).
I don't understand how one can't see any difference between IE and Firefox. The latter is much better even if used out of box. Not mention the customized one. |
