Congress wants to give big companies control of the internet, allowing them to decide what people can view. Right now we need you to help keep the internet neutral |

What will we care what the states does? The internet is not just based out of the U S of A. They can only keep thier own people quiet not that rest of the world. |

Sorry, M8, living in Canada makes me laugh out loud at the "already happening" stuff. Shaw doesn't charge more for using others, they charge les if you use all their services. It's a normal business tactic. And the U.S. Congress can't control the internet, and they won't try to, since any American based companies will pull out. As for ISP controlling what you see, well they CAN, but it's also bad business, people will go to other ISPs. I'm sure the folk who made the site are sincere, but I'm not worried in the least. |

Its not that there gonna charge you to visit certain sites, its that they are gonna slow them down or block them unless the site pays up |

This may sound holier than thou but any site that lines up with a gun lobby loses my support.
Great believe in equal rights and free speach, everyone has the right to be heard even gun lobbies, but you've got to have standards and you should chose your friends with care.
Anyway the canadians right (as they usually are, don't see many maple leaf flags in Iraq), the internet may not have started as a commercial enterprise but it's as big as it is cos lot's of people think there is money to be made there and unfortunatly money makes the world go round. |

In a word, hackers, they can eat anything the government can throw at them or attempt to stop them with... Not to mention this is just another pathetic attempt of the richest country in the world to squeeze even more money of a revolutionary industry so they can waste it on guns and research into better guns... not to mention spying on their own people and padding their wallets... Oh... and money making the world go round is an absurd statement, if it weren't for the stupid barrier of money we'd be driving hydrogen fuel cell powered cars(which were developed and perfected almost 75 years ago today)... but you know, something that stagnates the existence of humanity and turns them to filthy little greed monkeys must be a blessing in disguise right? I could always be wrong... The internet will never die and noone can control without impeding human rights and furthermore anyone who does will never be capable of running his PC again |

It would have been tough for that inventor to do that considering he'd be growing turnips as a peasant farmer on some crap hole feudal plot. (Or banging maids in the feudal keep).
Perhaps money should not make the world go round, but that old saw is one of the few accurate one. |

To be fully honest the eventual conclusion of money being brought about so far seems to be leading to the earth spinning far too quickly until it rips itself apart while we starve to death for our wastefull use of oil which'll get us all buried in massive earthquakes within a decade... not to mention the birth of wage slavery and corporations that truly force you to sell your soul to earn by repressing our beautiful inner voices from any thought unacceptable to the whole... and as for 75 years ago, you need to learn history, most monarchies ended in like the 1800s and we were almost as advanced then as we are now... we are living in a dar age, the only truly new invention in the last 100 years either had purely scientific merit, and there's very few of those, and computers... Oh... and more pitifull weapons in comparison to what is possible through activation of the human spirit and an awakening of the mind, go to Japan and start a fight with their best soldier while you watch him move impossibly and as further warning he won't even show you what he's truly capable of as you are Gaijin... We are a dead nation on a dead continent and rather then choosing to learn, grow and adapt as is the true nature of nature itself, not dog eat dog like capitalist fools claim, we call ourselves advanced and eat our own hearts wholesale praying for a savior... I hate my country... I hate all countries and if I had my way, there'd be no nations tomorrow... ...and as for money, it is dust that buys you more dust, sit on a mountain until you learn to move it, then learn it need not be moved for we live our lives eternally... It seems there are plenty of old and accurate saws that need to be broken and upgraded |
