I'd like to announce two exciting new developments. Firstly, a new official ranked tournament reporter team, and secondly, a member competition!

Official Tournament Reporter Team:

As the main round of the Grotty Little Tournament II approaches I am seeking some creative, committed, coaches to help with writing articles about this prestigious major tournament as well as other upcoming ranked tournaments and our upcoming Tour (major new development for the ranked tournament scene - more details later, but keep your eyes peeled for juicy bits that we drop about this in the upcoming weeks!).

We are looking for some FUMBBL members to write match reports, interviews with coaches, predictions, background stories, obituaries, articles on favorite moments etc. Whatever you like as long as it is interesting, entertaining and within theme (and does not use abusive language, is family friendly etc).

Please note that this group does NOT replace the wonderful Grotty Little News (GLN). We intend to work very closely with this quality publication, but the nature of the major tournaments (currently spanning 3 months each) means we need something more flexible to keep up as they progress on a weekly or even daily basis. Additionally, the GLN covers much much more than just the ranked tournaments, hence the desire for the new team/network. The plan is to have a WIKI page with links to the most up to date Ranked tournament news/articles to make your forum searching much easier and help promote the ranked tournaments and we will tie in with the GLN as much as possible. The team already consists of AFK_Eagle, Mikafreak, Mithrilpoint, Plorg and Prinz. Some of you have read their fine work before and know what quality material they are capable of so I think we are going to have a great start.

So if you would like to work in a team, want to have some fun with these fine writers and think you have what it takes to be an official tournament reporter, please come to channel #reporters and let me or one of the other team members know how you would like to help out.

What do you get for your time and efforts? The pleasure of promoting our hobby! The pressure of looming deadlines! Constructive criticism by your colleagues and all those who read your articles! Ridicule from the masses when all your tips/picks are wrong! Creative writing experience! Teamwork experience! Imagine "Official FUMBBL Tournament Reporter" on your resume when you apply for your journalist position in your real life! ;)

Look forward to seeing you in #reporters and reading the great (I hope) articles that come out in the coming weeks and months.

Competition:

Now in related news, we need to come up with a name for the tournament reporting group. Some initial suggestions:

CBC - Cable Bloodbowl Commission
ESBN - Extreme Sports Bloodbowl Network

Personally, I would like to see something that has Grotty, FUMBBL or Tournament in the name, but that is my own preference. We will put the best ideas into a poll and the winner gets our congratulations and the kudos of being known as the witty person who came up with the great name.
