The Champions of Nature played their 300th game today. Although this milestone was to be played against Atrapados en el tiempo, the Orc side had a pending game that made the derby an impossibility. Therefore, we waited for a challenge, and not surprisingly, it came from one of the bravest coaches around, Smashak and his Chaos team Win is our drug.

There have been lots of small changes in the past 100 games. To start with, the coach stopped caring about the players and so elfbowl days were left behind. At first the team struggled to adjust to this new mindset: 11 players were lost in 10 games. 4 straight defeats were suffered (a negative record), and the team strength plummeted to 147.

Another important factor was the realization that quantity, and not quality, was the key to win games. Thus, niggled players were fired immediately, no matter how good the player, as was the case with future Hall of Famer Wraith of Nature. With this policy, the team began to recover its strength much faster than expected, until it became stronger than it had ever been (team strength 292). It was during this time that the Champions managed to win 8 consecutive games, setting a new F1 record of 269 points in a round.

Another consequence was incorporating the unfairly reviled dirty player skill to the playbook. Used as a deterrent most of the times, but also to neutralize casualty machines -- no more fouling without retaliation! :)

Our pride and joy, however, is our large fan base, currently at 29. With such a loyal support, the team looks to a bright future. So come to F1 and play with us!
