Preemptive apology
It is currently 2 minutes to midnight local time, on what has been the worst birthday I've ever had. I'm 35 today, for those who must know. But, I want to go ahead and apologize now to anyone who I may snap at over the next few weeks.

I learned today that my dad has lung cancer.
Tomorrow, he goes in for surgery to have a 2.5" lump carved from one of his lungs.


So, if I seem extra moody over the next several weeks or longer, just know that I'm dealing with a lot right now, and it's nothing against you.


PS: I'm in a mood to completely destroy an opposing team. Anyone want to offer up some lambs to be [helplessly] slaughtered?

I'm very sorry to hear that.

Just my 2cents about blood bowl, from past experience it's not the greatest game to be stuck playing when you have a lot on your plate. Being that you can't walk away in the middle of a game and just the nature of cruel dice and stuff. Maybe time to do some First Person Shootering :)

So sorry to hear mate. Few years back I went through exact same thing with my father.

All you can do is be there and support him. Even though you will feel useless.

Hope for a speedy recovery.

Couldn't agree more. My old man has prostate cancer. Had the laser and they thought they got rid of it. They hadn't. That was about 6 or 7 years ago now.

So now in his spine and elsewhere. No one knows how long he has but we can only enjoy spending time with him and keep positive. No one knows what the future holds.

I never lost or risked to lose a close relative but what I experienced in times of great mental suffer is that I was always very calm and friendly as I felt vulnerable and did not want to risk to become emotionally attacked.
