Best Elf Race in Box (1 month update)
One month ago I created 4 elf teams and sent them into the depths of the blackbox to see what would happen...it has been a twisted and tangled road they have traveled. One month later we examine the record to see what they have accomplished and who has failed.
Embrace Anger (Dark Elf) - 6/0/1
They lost their second game (against amazons); but have since been on a roll. Skill rolls have helped as an early +ST on the witch elf meant we focused the SPP on her and she is now a force with +ST, Block and Sidestep. However, the three blitzers are looking good as well. One has MB, another Dodge and Tackle, and the third one just rolled +AG after the seventh game. Would like to add a 5th positional soon - however, they seem to be a solid team and have just won back to back games against dwarves.
Embrace Honor (High Elf) - 7/2/1
They lost their fourth game and picked up two draws. Certainly some quality wins (dealing the first loss to a 8/4/0 Lizardman team among them) and overall solid. Again, it is focus on early +Stats that has guided our skilling. Our catcher rolled +AG followed by +MA and since has been cursed by several opponents. Nothing else stands out about the team - they are solid but outside the catcher they are very plain and workmanlike.
Embrace Joy (Pro Elf) - 5/1/0
The team I feel most comfortable with also got off to a great start with 12 TDs in first two games allowing them to blodge up three of their positionals quickly. Guard on their thrower is the only double (no stats) - but they are doing very well, just the 1 unfortunate draw (their third game) to mar their record.
Embrace Life (Wood Elf) - 6/1/5
These guys are an utter and complete disappointment. It seems certain they will end up in 4th place in this competition, but it is worse than that! They won their first six games...then the wheels came off and both wardancers were killed in the same match and the wood elves have been 0/1/5 since. Losing all five games by identical 1-2 scores. Some of it has been tough matches - but mostly I just feel incompentent with the team right now. Nothing is working over this past stretch of games. Starting to dread when these guys play.

CI32 - But then you can't make a long running team - the most fun kind.
I'm cheering for your HE, because we need more High Elves in the Box....so far, the only race the Lanterns have yet to meet. I've met Goblins 3 times for crying out loud!

Keep going, its when you get over 1800tv that it gets more interesting. Its easy to beat rookies, but it will be alot more revealing when the teams grow and the opponents get better.

Not surprised that Dark Elf are leading the way. They are the best choice to stand up to bash with 6 players 6spp away from blodge.
Also not surprised that Wood Elf fell apart after a few games. Once the mighty blow comes online, it's a steady stream of players to the casualty box. Losing both wardancers was rotten luck, and the 70k linemen will be your downfall.
Only surprise is how well Pro Elves are doing. I like to think myself proficient with all the elves, but the truth is that I can't play PE worth a damn. Shame your dwarves are so broken that you sort of have to play them in majors, because PE is definitely your best race.
