Going too far with Kill All Menz!
Had a match today against a coach who I think is quite good at the game - he rarely makes any obvious mistakes and his positioning is top notch. However, nearly every game against him is painful to play due to his attitude. One that seems to stem from the "Kill All Menz!" that people shout. While it can be fun and important not to take the game too seriously - I believe that some people are just acting very poorly and using this rhetoric to justify their poor actions.
Now, the game was close, but he got a blitz to start the game, and so was able to get the upper hand with short kick + blitz. However, there were some comments during the game that highlighted some of the reason I was annoyed:
An attitude of "I want to cripple your team." Never sits well with me.
I finally got annoyed of his whining and asked him to stop. However, he continued because it "changes dices." Not fun to play against someone constantly whining (especially when they are winning the game).
More like the first - actively rooting for your opponent to have bad luck and saying it to them. Rubbing it in when someone has bad luck is not good sportsmanship.
And the final chat of the game. :/
I think that people need to calm down a little bit on the rhetoric of Kill All Menz. How about we focus on having a good time and being polite to our opponents.

i watched the replay, and that guy never really used the tactic kill all manz. Maybe it was just the part of scarrying the opponent so he would not use apo on his leg player if badly hurted. I doubt it tough, cause that guy is shallow as somethin which is not deep.

You just should have let the chat log stand for itself. ;) Well. Some people tend to forget that Fumbbl is a free to play, open to anyone, player vs. player online gaming environment. That considered, the above is really, really softcore. Ask your friends who play LoL. ;) And on Fumbbl, that's maybe like one in a hundred matches, if that.

P.S.: Checking who it was, I can say this, I've played him and beat him in a tournament match although he is a much better coach than I am, and we got along. I don't have the full picture but sometimes it's just a bad mood, cultural differences, language barrier etc. Or sometimes it takes two. Plus, I think the guy is more self-ironic than you give him credit for.

And also, yes, I think even though not fun and not good form, it was rather harmless, especially seeing as it was a tournament match. From what I've seen in spectator chat of tournament matches, craving pixel blood is pretty much accepted on Fumbbl, especially Legend pixel blood. Very especially Legend pixel BOX CHAOS DWARF blood.

Maybe the case highlighted in this blog isn't the best one, and as you note, it's 2 big killer teams slugging it out, when I play my box CD I fully expect to get fouled and blitzed and whatever just to take out the cpombers. I do the same in return.
However, there is a difference when someone plays a team simply to destroy other teams and doesn't really worry about winning the match. Some of us play to win the match by removing the opposition, everyone understands that part.
The part that people don't understand is when a team is built solely to kill and maim, and when the coach doesn't always seem to care as much about winning as they do about just removing the other guys players. I've seen this attitude, you've seen this attitude, those coaches and their teams are not particularly hard to beat, but they certainly are not any fun to play against. More so if the coach is also spewing crap about how badly he wants to kill your menz all game.

I was about to say that, to be perfectly honest, entering BBBs with such a boring snoring team (Azure Claw Squad) over and over and over again doesn't even remotely justify any complaints about Kill All Menz attitudes, no matter how excessive they might be.

@ licker: I love to play against the Newcasters (ok, not too often I must admit), yet I've seen Carlo using PO with the BC for the sake of injuring one more fling. Yet, I'll play them again. Why? Because their coach is a great guy and fun to play against. I don't think killer teams are as much of an issue as coaches acting like jerks

Maybe, I've only played the news casters once myself, with one of my very first teams ever. I don't recall much about that game, but meh, I don't want to play them anymore because the play style seems pretty boring to me.
On the other hand, the news casters are not a team you're likely to draw with a rookie team, and they are R, so it's kind of not the same issue. I don't really consider carlo to part of the problem crowd anyway.

I just played that team Newscasters. And I didn't know anything about it before. Therefore, I was very surprised that he let me score early in the 1st half. And those who know me, will know that I don't score often !!
And then the bashing started. To be fair, he scored 3 TD's but I gave up after 6 turns, 1st Half, and just watched the carnage. He didn't really make any rude comments.
But I suppose his team is now on my "No-Play" list.
