Sound for playing coaches
I have an idea:

Sometimes you write an email, talk to someone on the phone, getting that great coffee or listen to sweet music while playing.

Sometimes it takes 2-3 minutes until you realise its your turn and there is no way for the opposing player to inform you about this. A quad skull the first thing you do isnt what the opponent (or you!) expected. I suggest that we imply a sound for the playing coaches, so they can get the other player´s attention.

Something like "Wake up" or "Hello?" or similar but not as word-based.

Please rate it:
1) Crap idea
6) Great idea
7) Pie-die

I'm all for it, although I quite often have my system muted.

We need there to be a shock sent through to the late persons computer when they reach the time limit.

MonkyMan576 why would you shock an already dead guy? If hes dead hes not going to finish his turn any how.

On topic would be a fine idea as long as there is a cool down on it so we deont have ass hats spamming it in your face. Like you can only use it once a turn.

Buy why is this a blog? Why is it not a forum topic where it should be?

its a crap idea if your playing blood bowl you should be paying attention to the whole game, It pisses me of when coaches are clearly not paying attention.

You wouldnt see players just wandering off mid game at my TT club!

You should be paying attention to the game.

You owe this to your opponent

Problem goes away if we had an auto-timeout

I think it's a pretty good idea, but if they aren't listening a sound isn't going to work. Were you suggesting a pop-up message? If so, I like it. But as has been suggested, only usable once a turn.
Posted by Nelphine on 2013-05-29 17:19:14
If you're not looking at the screen, a pop up won't work either. Unfortunately, I think both ideas (a sound and a pop up) are equally as good - meaning, not very good at all. For those people who would notice it, they are largely paying attention anyway, and won't benefit from it (even the writing an e-mail guy - if you would hear a sound, then you would also notice after a minute or so when there has been NO sound, not even the walking across squares sound). And for those who won't hear a sound/see a pop up, they aren't likely to do the other one either, and so no matter what you do, they simply won't pat attention.

I don't think this would actually help.

(A big notice saying 'your opponent has chosen NOT to use SS or SF' would be kind of nice though..)

Should had been a forum topic ofcourse qaz, it was just me being lazy.
Seems like it wasn´t the perfect idea anyhow. But maybe it gave Big C and Kalimar some inspiration ;-D
