Dear sirs,

I was made aware of the letter that was sent to FUMBBL (it was posted on their news thread...) and while I understand the legal aspects of the matter, I am here to add my appeal towards allowing FUMBBL to continue on as is. I'm sure you have gotten plenty of letters and emails from people and I hope that you read them all.

My friends and I are in a group of close to thirty people and we grew up playing the game in it's 2nd Edition revision. When we grew up and moved away from each other, our models were stored and not glanced at for a number of years. When I discovered FUMBBL earlier this year, I recruited my friends and now we have rekindled our love of the game. We have each bought more model teams and some of us have even purchased new boards (though I still prefer my polystyrene pitch ;) and we have petitioned our wives to allow us a boys weekend that we are going to devote entirely to playing the board game as we have come to learn the 4th Edition Rules via FUMBBL. We were also very much looking forward to Christer's development of LRB5 so as to further our love of the ever-evolving game that is Blood Bowl. (New teams have already been purchased... I have my Norse team waiting and ready!). We have rediscovered the wonderful game of Blood Bowl BECAUSE of FUMBBL.

Conversely, we have all seen and played - either through Beta testing or purchase of - the Cyanide version of Blood Bowl and while the graphics are neat, the playability is woefully deficient compared to what we enjoy playing. I do not need to see my models move and flex and breathe, and I am planning on introducing my children to the game as a board game to culture their imaginations (as well as painting abilities). The game was developed as a board game and FUMBBL's JavaBowl Client is the best way to get the board game to translate to the internet. If FUMBBL is removed as an outlet for our continuing interest in Blood Bowl, then I fear that everyone who is part of the community of players will drift away and you will be losing way more than you could hope to gain.

My hope is that you would work with FUMBBL to develop some kind of relationship there - I have donated money to the site for it's upkeep, I would be happy to purchase an annual liscense if that is what GW would prefer. But you can NOT make me play the Cyanide Version... it WILL not happen. I will go back to chess and use the already purchased Blood Bowl models I own for the pieces. Please realize what end your legal actions may take on the future of such a wonderful game. Thank you for your time.
