Dle7s awards committees name finalists
End of season awards dinner is coming soon, the awards committees have named the finalist for all of the positional awards. One of each three finalists will win the award and go forward to win the overall Heizmenz trophy, rewarding the best player in college football. Remember, prestige points are up for grabs

Butkiks Award – Awarded to the most outstanding Blitzer in the College Seven aside system. Named after their unparalleled ability to kick behind and keep on scoring!
Edmund Heckler - Edmund embodied the Blitzer role that has become so popular in the pro leagues. His amazing return of 15 casualties over the season but only 99 turns played and less than 100 blocks shows his deadly touch and the attributes the pro scouts will be desperate to recruit easily qualifying him for this shortlist
Francis Harkin - A stalwart for the Swabbies all year, lining out for 143 turns in a 9 game season. That number was only bested by two players and Harkin turned on the style every time he played. For being an archetypal brute, he barely bothered with blocking and allowed his running and unexpected arm talent do the talking as he led all Blitzers in completed passes. He’s already made his way to the Draft League Europe proper and will be an interesting prospect at the next level.
Daniel de Pisieux - Daniel comes from one of the founding Sevens team, the Universite d’Artois and through his 9 game regular season, he piled misery on the other teams in the POMB Light Conference. He led the league in rushing and mopped up all the plaudits in a team that perhaps underperformed at times.

Bilenticatch Award – The most outstanding Catcher in College Sevens is awarded the Biletnicatch Award. One handed diving catches and aggressive defensive play rewarded for those pure athletes who are brave enough to wear half as much armour as anyone else
Roberto Graffit 2 – The quintessential run/pass quarterback of this College season got hurt in his final game for the Merchants. Moulded to be able to pass the ball but ultimately always opted to pull the ball down and run it in himself. The Merchant’s offense ran through him all year and it is unfortunate how his career ended.
Alex Thomson – The Seafarers speed merchant was the most electrifying player in College Blood Bowl this year, his 16 touchdowns were, however, not enough to bring home a National Championship. Not graced with the plaudits from the crowd in the way of MVP awards but won a place in the hearts of everyone watching on Cabalvision at home.
Lionel “La Pulga” Messi – The Thunderclaps had a rough season but Lionel Messi was the Lightening that follows the Thunder. His top level speed left others grasping at thin air and he has the pure ability to keep his team in every single match. Who can stop him at this level?

Nagitski Award - Linemen are important and this is where they get their credit! Who out there are the guys who are working hard to let your Superstars run wild? Find out below
Malcom Butch – Malcom Butch spent the year chipping in to every part of the offensive game plan. He did shy away from contact but his performance as an all-rounder while not initially being that gifted a player is exactly what teams want from a Lineman.
Sine MacAoidh – Sine was an enigma this year, outscoring a lot of the more athletic players in the league. The talented young lady from the Kilted Saints showed the boys how it’s done with 11 touchdowns, her unexpected speed shifting her past opponents making her slippery and hard to bring down.
Casey Barrone – Casey developed late in the season after key players on the Hill-Toppers were forcibly removed by bad injuries against the Universite d’Artois. His nose for the ball and ability to carry, pass, score and block has helped him stand out as one of the key complimentary pieces in the league.

Spewnitas Award – The best and most accurate Throwers in DLE7s will be honoured with the Johnny Spewnitas Golden Arm Award. Candidates identified for being the player who drags their team along, binding them as a leader and displaying keen athletic and arm talent.
Edward Hotspur Esquire – Ed displayed enough gumpshun as a passer, risking the long pass during most games. With only 11 passes his average per completion was over 5 yards! He also chipped in with some key blocking and touchdowns to bring excitement to the pitch.
Renate Dedekind – This lady brightened up the Sevens division with her all round play. She won the hearts of many fans while leading all throwers for rushing yards and taking home 5 scores. Her passing was usually short reliable stuff and may not have the arm talent to consistently push the ball down the field.
Tom Brady Quinn – An efficient passer of the ball, known for relying on his skill players to take it to the house. Also showed some proficiency hitting people, having the second highest blocking volume of all Throwers.

Outland Award – Big, brutish and grumpy, the Ogres have arrived in college 7s. Their mass can give all coaches nightmares but they can also create havoc for their own team! Here’s the cream of the crop.
Edd De Vries – The league’s iron man, Edd has played every turn available to him and reward his coach with 4 casualties through the year. The fact he was constantly on the pitch shows the value the coach places in him.
George Buehler – George actually toted the rock this year and followed it up with some nasty blocking in a full season of Ogre mayhem.
Thomas Edward ‘Black Jack’ Ketchum – A guy who never really got his shot, the Sluggers were soon to cut him after a 3 game struggle. He was the most successful ball carrying Ogre, dragging the ball 10 yards over those three games but he left College with his potential unfulfilled.

I think the nuns of St.Agnes should get a prize for most involved spectators. In the first match of the regular season against the Fort Schippel Hill-Toppers, the astute nuns did two Pitch invasions and one Riot!
