FFB Update: One step forward, two steps back ...
... or: no battle plan survives contact with the enemy.
As I've been blogging in my last update I did spend quite some time on major refactorings moving the server communication to websockets and JSON in preparation for an FFB HTML5 client. But as life moves ever on something else has come up to capture my attention: I'm re-locating in summer due to job changes (to Münster, still working for the same company) and there is a lot of visiting potential new homes, arranging for selling our current home, looking for new schools for the kids, etc.
As a result I didn't finish what I started out to do and I feel that I need to change plans a bit. So: I will start working on a new patch version 1.0.6 providing some fixes (I didn't have a closer look at the bugreports in a while, so I'll do that first) and updates. WhatBall needs some changes for the restart of Stunty Leeg, the options for leagues are coded but still can't be activated due to interfacing issues with Fumbbl etc.
Time to be spent on this is still very limited at the moment but I think a new update is more useful to the community than working on some very future stuff that might or might not ever see the light of day.
