So Undead/Necros have never won a major. Honestly, I think its time to change that. In trying to do my part, I played two major qualifier finals matches today. Here is a recap:
The
Cult of the Dead Bunnies Qualified for the Warpstone Open by defeating
A Well-Read Pestilence in an incredibly tough match.
In the tourney overall, the Bunnies have been very stressful for me to coach. The last three first halves have been terrible as Chimp, Mossbeard, and RobRoyDuncan knocked me around. My wights, usually very dependable for me have been particularly terrible. Let's see if they get their rotting asses in gear for the main draw. With how they played on defense... I will be knocked out quickly in the main event.
One thing that was helpful was bringing back the fouling game in my semifinal against Mossbeard (that was the matchup that worried me the most). Let's see what the WO field looks like.
In other deadite action in Blackbox, my
Rope Pull Mafia (or Rope Pullers as some say) have won their qualifier for the Crown of Sand in a corpse fight against the Clawpomb CD Killa Sammler Der Seelen. Was a real
hard fought match, but I think Sammler was wearing the wounds of his previous fights against the derp.
Unlike the Cult, the Mafia have been monstrous in their qualifying run. Maybe its the TV or the racial matchups, but the Rope Pull Mafia are going to have a lot of momentum heading into the main draw. If things go well, I can have the TV inducement advantage in an 8 team main event. Not terrible odds... :)
As a side shout out, all my opponents so far have been enjoyable. I like BB where both sides are fighting hard and want to win and that was evident in all the matches.
