Retired Teams - Ukk
I dont have an OCD or maybe I do and I just dont know it... I have a fair few teams that I don't use and dont really think I want to use - I created them when I was learning the game and getting to know the UI, I know some of you like to use all the races available but I guess I am a minimalist when it comes to things. I like the idea of being proficiant with only 1 or 2 race's, perfecting the game with them before considdering others.

I want to retire them, but I dont want a list of retired teams as I find it looks rotten and lacks profensionalism sumwhat. Call me what you will - I know its just a game and I am being somwhat iffy, but is there a way to remove them without having them in the 'Retired Teams' section of my account.

I would prefer retired teams to have story's to tell besides..

'He created us in a hurry, without care or thought, he used us, didnt play with us long enough to abuse us, and we cant do a thing about it now anyway he's tossed us in the trash, our Coach was a idiot'

Thoughts? & Thanks!

If you retire them, hide the retired list and pretend it's not there...everyone's a winner! :D

<----294 retired Teams, and there is some really high Tv on it:)get over it!!

It is a bit of shame you can't un-retire and retire teams as you please. I can't think of any particular reason why it shouldn't be possible or desirable. Especially for those with teams from the lrb4 era when teams were more easily destroyed or ruined. Some of those could make triumphant returns now.

I agree it would be good to be able to clean up the list and be able to only show the deleted teams that are worth looking at.

bollocks !

Why would you want to retire a team?
Posted by albinv on 2013-10-29 18:36:25
I know this doesnt help on the topic, but what does OCD stand for?
Posted by albinv on 2013-10-29 18:41:26
I can relate to the topic though, personally i wish there was an option for the coach to just delete a team.

But that would interfere with the fumbbl stats the admins say.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It's a mental illness where people have compulsions to do things they don't have to do, and they know they don't have to do, but they feel they need to anyway. (stuff like turning a lightswitch on & off many times before they can leave a room)

In pop culture the common view of it is being overly clean & orderly, so when people try to keep things neat it gets called 'OCD'

I prefer to call it CDO, so all the letters are in alphabetical order, just the way they should be. To the Blogger, I agree the retired teams isn't a great look, but hiding them helps, out of sight, out of mind.

weirdo

They were taken away, however staff need to work on and view retired teams at times, so they were put back again.

I guess it was one of the other, and it's pretty important staff have this facility. Well more important than your OCD problem anyway.

Why would you want to retire a team?

If you retire the team, you can´t play it. If you don´t you can. So where is the benefit from not being able to play a team?
Posted by pythrr on 2013-10-29 23:15:06
C3po - there are many reasons to retire a team:

prior to the new ruleset, teams would often get into an unplayable state. Without J-men, many fragile teams would end up unplayable, with 4 or 5 players.

even with the new ruleset, some B teams become unplayable. A new Fling team that get 2 trees MNG becomes impossible to get scheduled with.

many people get bored of teams and retire them.

many people retire teams that were built for one-off tournaments, or for Leagues that no longer exist.

it used to be the case that each coach could only have a very small number of active teams, so one had to retire teams to make new ones. fortunately this limit has been increased in recent years, but there is still (?) a limit.

I would have thought that this was all very simple to imagine.

I can buy retiring a team, if you can´t make a new team, unless you make room for one. But most other reasons are kind of silly. Not much better then those players I seen that suddenly retire ALL their teams, just to create a new team not long after.
Posted by pythrr on 2013-10-30 01:02:37
why are they silly?

who are you to judge the actions of others?

Why don't you find a retired team that is not replicable by a new one pyttie.
Posted by C3I2 on 2013-10-30 05:25:43
Look it up
Posted by pythrr on 2013-10-30 06:22:46
yes, and so? you are still a hypocrite for calling others silly for retiring teams. why did you retire yours?
Posted by C3I2 on 2013-10-30 07:11:43
Gee, are you really an idiot, or are you unable to use Google to look up that word?
