2017 NA eves
I wish I could play more, but I'm really busy on weekends these days. Plus NA eve is really dead lately. I've shown up to play several times during the week, and there is only 20-30 coaches online. Most of which are mono-game findering, or only looking for Rookies. I'm also being picky myself, because I don't really like playing a Ranked stacked team, that got that way from cherry picking. I guess I should also note, there are many of the 20-30 that show up to spectate or see what's up. I'm doing that now for instance.
I wish there were more Box Playwrs these days in my time schedule. There used to be tons, until the kill stacked teams drove them away. I really did hope the coaches would start to return from that after the changes. Most have moved on i guess. I wonder if the TT rerelease can attribute to people not playing online. If you can get a local league going, you don't need to come on here and play. I'm in two leagues of my own. I enjoy the TT version more, but Fumbbl has many positives.

Anyways, just putting down some thoughts. I accept your 3-4's.

NA Evening hours dead of late?

Sir, they have been dead for over 5 years. The only guys online for NA night time hours are the few coaches in NA leagues.

It is sad...I can recall the glory days of by gone years when NA night time hours was buzzing and humming.

I had thought that the tabletop rerelease would lead to more people here. But it doesn't seem to be the case. There is quite a good community of players in Alberta now but it seems few play FUMBBL.

it went downhill after political correctness muzzled the community in chat. Add to that the kill stack for select teams and it stopped being fun for many.

My current thoughts:

1) I find Leagues more fun in general.

2) I avoid Ranked, as I think it makes unsportsmanlike behavior too tempting (picking & pixel-hugging over winning).

3.1) The Box feels more legitimate to me, as you can't game it as easily.

3.2) Kill-stack is long dead, but there has not been any big influx in the Box. This makes me think picking and / or pixel-hugging were the greater motivations, not the piling-on / kill-stack game mechanism.

in Box you can't weed out the mismatch games or opponents that aren't fun. Thus a greater chance of having your time totally wasted. That's what killed off Box.

I dunno. I'll say that in the 145 League, I see a lot of new coaches that join FUMBBL and apply to the league. To my eye a high percentage of them don't seem to stick around - this could be many different things of course, but the numbers seem there.

I'm available NA evenings usually, but same as Keggie the matchups are discouraging so I'll generally play during Euro times.

I always have to play up TV in ranked (using Lizardmen there) so I find Box is better for getting fair games. LEss so when there was piling on but definitely better now as long as there are activators about.
