Tons of thanks
A couple of weeks ago, I made the difficult decision that the Fumbbl Cup would be my final tournament on the site. The main reason was that my dislike of the upcoming rules change made my favorite part of the game (building cool teams) feel redundant. As a result of this playing at all felt like a waste of time.

Nuffle was kind enough today to see me off with a bit of a dicing and with that my time here comes to an end.

I have a lot of thanks to offer before I go though.

First and foremost thanks to Chister for allowing me to play with his toys for all these years. You are a prince among men.
Thanks to all members of the Fumbbl staff (past and present) who have helped make it all possible.
Thanks to all the coaches who put up with the whining from my end when I played in a bad mood.
Thanks to all the coaches who called me out on my whining, thus usually ending a period of unsportsmanlike behavior.
Thanks to all the XFL enthusiasts who helped keep the formula alive and kicking over all the years I was involved in running it.
Thanks to those who were kind enough to help me fill my grids by playing the kind of matchups people normally don't play voluntarily.
Thanks to all the somewhat less competitive coaches who have Fumbbl a fun place by chasing silly goals and playing themed teams.

I wish you all a lot of fun playing the new game that was once Bloodbowl and hope the community will thrive in the future.

For now a last THANKS to everyone and bye bye!

I have to say the sentiment is familiar, but too bad to see you go. Hopefully there will be a quick addendum to the new rules for long term leagues to tempt you back in :-)

(and convince me to stay)

All the best!

I understand your frustration for the new rules, but on the other hand BB should still be fun enough to keep on playing it, in my opinion.
See you and hopefully you will change your mind in the future, never say never! :D Take care!

XFL was one of the best tournament formats I've played, online or offline. Good luck!

I'm feeling the same at the moment Cloggy. Might see what state my team is in after the first redraft is enforced then make a decision

Sad to see you go but I get where you are coming from. Take care.

Same als cloggy and the others , im only playing leagues games and some stunty for the exact same reasons, fumbbl cup was too my last tourney here , excepting stunty brawl....

And loved xfl too....

Tks for yor work cloggy.

What a sad period for the coachs with the vision than you about new rules..

Custom leagues can have their own length seasons and as a result far higher tv limits.

If its about team building and fluff this is something you can make there. Ok its not box or ranked but it is an option.

Hoping you reconsider.

As someone out of the loop, what's going on with rule changes that screws everything up so much?
Posted by Cyrus-Havoc on 2020-11-01 20:36:31
I am sorry to see you go but you must do what feels right to you.
Posted by SpecialOne on 2020-11-01 21:26:58
I think many of us "old-timers" feel the same. I will stick around as several of the leagues I play in will stay in this old fashioned way.

And also gove the new game a try. But I do fear it will be silly with silly on top.

I’m sure there will be a way of playing the way you want to play when the new rules come. But if not, it doesn’t hurt you to give them a go anyway. When LRB4 became CRP, FUMBBL was full of doom mongering, predictions of the end and coaches threatening to throw it all in because of this or that reason. The majority of them came to find that CRP wasn’t the disaster they had predicted.

There will be a new way to build stories and history for your teams. The actual Blood Bowl might even be better.

But if it’s the end for you - good luck with whatever is next.

So long. Like many, I also feel the same. My play time and motivation to play will drop with team building in competitive play ending. Enjoy the break!

"Thanks to all the somewhat less competitive coaches who have Fumbbl a fun place by chasing silly goals and playing themed teams."

Thanks for thanking me :P

Hopefully the site with the new rules will leave enough space for you to still be able to enjoy the game how you like to play it. Regardless, I wish you all the very best in everything you do! Take care, Dalfort.

You should wait until its implemented.
Also, who knows, some changes may be good?

Thanks and good luck with whatever your new endeveaor will be. Hopefully you will find some reason to return in the future. It took me 15 years but I am glad I had 9 months before the new rules hit

I'm going to give the new rules a shot, but there's a good chance I'll be joining you Cloggy (for the same reasons).

Thanks for your time and effort, the XFLs were always great fun and fierce competitions.
Many of us feel similarly so I totally understand your decision.
Take care, gl and hf!

How about an update on the options that will be available in the League division.

It may not be the End.
