LoL is a bit too linear: I dabbled but quickly got bored, with a firm belief that it's replayability value isn't a fraction of Blood Bowl's.

LoL, Dota, HON, all the same horrible communities.

FUMBBL - Best ever. Just don't feed the trolls ;)

+1 to this

the Fumbbl community is the only one that keeps me checking in even when I don't have time to actually play. A real credit to the gents who keep it lively.

League of Legends is a DotA-like free game.
2 teams of 5 heroes fight on a small map in order to destroy the opponent team's base.
I have friends addicted to it, I tried it but honestly I never liked it.
Blood Bowl > LoL

I played a similar game (Demigod). While the game's dynamic is cool, the meta-game was really bad. You need to form 2 teams of 5 and having a single noob completely destroys your chance to win. This means that both sides will very actively strive to reject new players in order to improve their win chances.

Since FUMBBL is 1 vs 1, the only noobs you meet in-game are opponents, which leads to (if anything) the opposite cherrypicking mechanic, which makes new people feel more welcome.

i left LoL for the same reason. Just morons and bitterguys there.

isn't league of legends one of those faggoty social RPGs?
Posted by SubbySuccubus on 2012-05-23 21:53:55
League is awesome fun just play it with a full group of friends and the enemy team starts muted now with a recent patch so no bickering just good wholesome fun

competitive team games that are time consuming tend to get personal when you fail.
be good at it and you won't be the target of harrasment.. ofcourse for the new player this ain't the best enviroment to grow, but you should always stick with good friends in these games anyways (good as in mentally healthy) ;)

i suggest Bloodline Champions for the next test to take, it's a free-to-play game with fast rounds and it's 3vs3 so it's not hard to get some friends for a team. The community also is slightly better than in the other MOBA's or 'dota-like'-games.

and yes fumbbl community is by far the best i've seen... i could say i've learned how to behave in the internets from this site ;)

Guess table-top coaches will agree with me if I say blood bowl is a great offline/real life community too. (compared to other tabletop games : Wh battle, Wh40k, Magic the gathering)

Back to topic : yeah, LoL's community is horrible ^^

if u think LOL is bad, try playing Star craft 2, biggest collection of crap heads u will ever come across.

I would say 80+ % of people on SC2 are S%&£ heads

LoL is a great game. But people are quite nasty... that's why I love the ignore feature. Also there is a lot less trolling since the cross team chat was disabled by default.

LoL gets my time even if the trolls are out in force.

Seems like FUMBBL should get a LoL team going on :D

Just ignore the idiots that trash talk. Be polite and just state the facts. Do a polite provoke statement towards them and report them for verbal abuse after the game. If someone rage in the start of the game, tell team to calm down. It helps. Defend teammates who have been wronged, it helps also. Dont tell people they are wrong, but instead encourage them to play more defensively or aggressively. Most you have to treat as little children nursing them into a better person.

And if the team begin to do an /all report for feeding, then defend yourself with you being outplayed in chat. Then you will be safe from the tribunal ;)

But yep FUMMBL best community

FUMBBL does have a great community. Only major downside is few/no women. That's one point where MMOs generally fare better, unless your whole point in gaming is to avoid the opposite sex (in many cases, specifically the spouse, I'm certain). A friend of mine met his finacee on WoW, so it's a nice compromise for guys who A) don't get out a lot and B) still want to meet women.

Also, I'll give props to FICS (free internet chess server). Very helpful and gentlemanly bunch...almost unfailingly polite. I swear their average user is mid-forties with an advanced degree in the hard sciences. Not quite the warmth and camaraderie you'd get around here, but no trolling/whining/drama at all, which is an impressive feat on the internet.

Oh, and I think FUMBBL would be more likely to be able to throw together a few D3 parties these days, than anything MMO-like. I'm sure we've had a few casualties who will be a bit limited on blood-bowling time until this latest fad passes (Barb 32, Act II Nightmare; Wizard 24, Act II Normal).

i have been playing lol very much, but did not get anywhere, mostly because when playing with friends when one of your teammembers is nearly always drunk chances are low, or when playing in randomly assigned teams one player can decide the game (into losing) whereas all the team is needed to win (most times).
i'm rathing hacking away in diablo3.
fumbbl really has a great community, and whenever i lose a game here i can only blame nuffle or myself.

i retract my earlier comment, i was thinking of another game
