Last round fouling... Why?
One thing I really dont understand is those petty minded players that just feel the need to induce pain on their opponent for no reason at all besides some kind of small minded revenge over a game lost.

I actually just come from a game where the score was 2-1 to me and we were in last half and was lining up for me kicking round 8-7 into action.
I gave him the 3 standard target dummies to block and he went at them with delight with his 3 blocks + 1 blitz only succeeding in knocking one over. I think the game is over, but boy was I wrong. He then all of the sudden decides to go for a foul as well assisted by as many as possible and thus killing my amazone blitzer. Asking him why and what he gained from that half arsed move he just answered "sweet sweet satisfaction" and then left the game. What puzzles me the most was that it had actually been a clean and good sported match all the way untill that last minute move.

Before all this happened, he actually killed one of my players as well during a block. off course I felt bad about it, but thats part of the game and I accepted it as thus. He also made another foul that also killed a player but luckily got saved by apothecary. But had it failed I would also have been, well not fine, but ok with it because fouling is also a strategic part of the game. But last round fouls? What purpose do the serve besides showing what little selfesteem another player has ?

Don't read so much into it.

Why play an online game with fictional, strange, races playing with an American Football? Why not learn French? Why not take dance classes? Help the homeless? On your deathbed, won't you want these countless hours back to do something truely worthwhile?

Nah - you won't care. You had a bit of light hearted fun. And so did that guy. Let it wash over you and forget about it. Tis but a game, they are but pixels. If that's the worst / most annoying thing to happen to you today, you're having a winner! :)

Disclaimer: May not take own advice. :D

can be useful for your ff roll ;)

Embrace the turn 16 foul. It's all part of this wonderfull game.

Good! Use your aggressive feelings, boy. Let the hate flow through you.

The only time I would ever consider a T16 foul would br under thses teo circumstances,

1} Leagues games where you opponants lose in next round is your win as you will be a head in points (Hopefully)

2} Fouling with B O N in Rotters team for chance of free Rotter

other than that I just cant see the point in T 16 fouls, there just pety

last turn fouling.....why not?
Posted by Gromrilram on 2008-11-23 14:55:42
reason for me for t16 fouls:
you have 1 cas and want another one for +1 ff roll
league/tourny matches
fouling with undead and you want a zombie/beast for a rotter
your opponent acted lik a retard and deserves it
you both would have fun on a rip
for killing a special player

A last turn foul is a bit like players shaking each others hands after a game. It's a "Thanks, well played" kind of gesture and is the polite thing to do. Not getting T16 fouled is insulting. :)
Posted by CircularLogic on 2008-11-23 17:13:32
Funny thing.. I did a survey among the 'T16 foul is fun ' crowd, our of 5 coaches 1 liked being fouled (maybe because it was only a stun?), 2 were accepting the foul, and 2 were upset, that I was going out of my way to T16 foul instead of scoring the 3-1 instead of the 2-1
Posted by SillySod on 2008-11-23 18:44:55
I did it because Deeproot turn 16 RIPing a +St, +Ma Norse catcher was hilarious.
Posted by paulhicks on 2008-11-23 19:04:47
Circ i dont remember that survey :D
i think you forgot to ask me.
You should run it for real this time :)
i think you'd be suprised how many people are actualy disapointed when the t16 foul done against them only produces a stun

I see nothing wrong in it, FIFA 2008 is always available if you have such big problems with it....

Would be nice if the blacklist system did something.

I watched the replay of the match. He stopped playing. He stopped even going after the ball well before the last turn. He was just throwing blocks to be throwing them.

If you are going to lose, just be a man about it. Crap like that, and fouling on the last turn with no good reason, is just throwing a tantrum like a little child.
Posted by paulhicks on 2008-11-23 20:18:26
Actualy thats not really a good arguement mordoten.
Just becaus ehes not fond of one aspect of the game doesn't mean he should go off and play another game entirely.
Fumbbl would be very boring if every single coach played in exactly the same way as each other and it is made a much better place for the miriad of veiwpoints displayed from the many different tactics employed here.

Just because the guy doesnt like a last turn "spite-foul" (if that is indeed what it was... we only have his word for it) then he should have to like it or leave? Does that really seem logical?
Posted by Sneakypete on 2008-11-23 20:32:58
Dear Mordoten I agree fully with Paulhicks. Just because I dont like or understand last minute fouling does not mean that fumbble is useless or no fun for me.

Actually i even doubt you read my post or even my Headline?

I say no where that it should not be done. All i say and ask is That I dont see the point and I dont understand why you would do it.

As some have commented in my blog and actually given me good reasons for why some use the T16 fouls. I have actually achieved something with this thread.

It does not change my opinion much but has shown me a few other views.

As to wether he did it out of spite, well only he knows. But as Vol says after been viewing my match report. He stopped playing the game to win or get a draw and became more focussed on hurting my team, this can of course be explained by the fact that he realised he could not win and might as well go for som cas spp, but that does still not explain the T16 foul that just seem rude, and in the chat he could have explained to me " for the extra chance of FF increase" instead of "sweet sweet satisfaction"

To the guys that try to explain that its just pixels, yes indeed it is :D but one of the fun and challenging parts of the game is also trying to develop a team and make it better. I have no problems with kill or injruies or even fouls as they are all part of the game. what i do have a problem with is people taking the game so serious that they need to hurt the one that won over them.

Last turn fouling to inflict pain on players?

Isn't that the whole point of the game?! This isn't any normal "sport" we're playing. Goblins are armed with chainsaws! A tiny insy foul is nothing!

And also, all part of the fun!
Posted by ATozz on 2008-11-23 22:49:47
In blackbox T16 fouls can help eliminate teams you do not wish to play any more games against. I wish I would have fouled some more vs Forrest_Gump the first time I played his wood elves for example, lesson learned! :D

It might be an omen of the apocalypse.

ha ha ha that is funny man, yeah i hate it when theres like so much ice in my coke that bye the time i finished my big crack i feel like im drinking piss or something that vex's me more than last turn fouls, i think next time you should feed his sharks with less tasty food, why put a blitzer on the LOS in the last turn ?
But "sweet sweet satisfaction" ha ha ha that is funny, what little selfesteem petty minded players have !
i just can't believe people even exist like that on the net.

there are many possible reasons

[1] to get a 2nd CAS for FF reasons.

[2] Cos its funny.

[3] Cos you've fouled him more than he has fouled you.

[4] Cos its funny.

[5] To try to tempt you into fouling back instead of scoring

[6] etc.

[7] And cos its funny.

Some people just get enjoyment from causing casaulties, its why some people play the game. Theres nothing "petty minded" about it, they are just having fun. Personally I am disappointed when my opponents DONT t16 foul me.
Posted by CircularLogic on 2008-11-24 11:27:21
Diabl0658:
Well well.. you sounded for sure abit annoyed, when my woodies fouled your khemri T16 instead of scoring.. granted.. I missed that it was T16 and drew because of that.. still you didn`t sound too happy about the foul.
Posted by Optihut on 2008-11-24 11:56:28
If you put an amazon blitzer on the line for the final setup, then you clearly want to diminish the other guy's chances to get blocking cas, due to the block dodge choice. Linemen are for the LOS.
In order to teach you a valuable lesson, it is almost mandatory to foul the 90k blitzer in this case.
