Thursdaynight dies on a Wednesday night
Legendary treeman, Thursdaynight Guitarclub, is dead.

He lasted a long time, and achieved quite a lot in his 615 games - mostly just by surviving until the stats started to pile up around him. He wasn't spectacularly vicious, and he certainly wasn't much of a scorer, but he did hit things a lot, and occasionally they failed to get up afterwards.

As far as I'm concerned his greatest achievement was his 96 MVPs. It always bothered me that a one-man team was top of the MVP list rather than a team player, and I was determined to secure the top spot. Obviously gaining MVPs has become a lot easier with the new rule, but so what. A stat is a stat!

It would be churlish to say I was happy to see him go - obviously I wanted him to make it to the top of every list - but his demise does bring some benefits (significantly lower TR, better access to the apo for the rest of the team, the chance to train up some newbie trees with different skill-sets). And when all's said and done, I'm a passer, not a blocker, so now I can get back to doing what I do best and stop obsessing over a stat-collecting fossil.

And it was a pretty good way to go; a block from an ogre, a natural kill, a failed apo. No killing himself on a failed go for it for this lad.

His final words... "Thank god it wasn't a snotting!"

Rest in Pieces.

Fumbbl will take a minute out to remember.

I once lost my legend tree to an ogre too. I'm glad to see that he is still the treeman with most fouls ever :)

Memorable game, and tonight (literally Thursday night) I'll drink a cold one to remember it! Never killed a Legend before (but have had my only one to date ripped from me), and what a Legend!

I can report that Woodrow was hoisted on his fellow ogres' shoulders after the game and carried around the pitch. I can't guarantee that no snotlings were injured or humiliated in the process.

Cheers!

He will be remembered.

On a sidenote I always thought that Thursdaynight Guitarclub is a pretty short name for a treeman.
