Thanks to Malthor for the great match. I consider myself a good coach and especially elf coach, but he never fails to show me a thing or two.

He apparently brought a lot of gatorade, as he was never rendered short-handed by Morley's, which made competing with those monsters a tough chore. All the same, I though I was staring at a tie when Malthor managed a 3-square, beautiful chain-push and then dodged through my gate. While I never like losing, I did all I could in this match.

A great game and I hope to have my revenge at some point!!!

A fun game against a fun coach. Just a shame the money rolls were so crud.

Handicaps were:

Bribe the Ref2
Morley's
Something I Can't Recall

Anyways, Morley's affected 2 players but rarely actually worked. I think out of 10 drives and a possible 20 visits to the toilet, there were maybe 3-5 rolls of 1-3 including at least one instance when the guy was in the KO box anyway heh.

Bribe the Ref2 was also a bust. My opponent considered using it, but he was wary of my DP and he was very relieved that he hadn't started a foul war as my team killed the ref twice in two kickoffs in the first half heh.

Anyways, the handicaps were not that good so it was going to be a challenge for Texan as I had the more developed team, and as he would acknowledge too, I have more experience.

Anyways, the Flayers started in offfence and the weather promptly changed to a blizzard!

It was a tight first half that finished 2-2. I had two unlucky plays but it was a bit of greedy coaching by me and I could have chosen less risky defence. On one defencsive drive, I did an early GFI to put a Diving Tackler on his remaining possible scoorer before moving any other player. I promptly failed (blizzard and all) and conceded an easy TD heh. I was greedy and should have not tried the GFI and moved all my other players first (I could get another player with DT on his scorer anyway).

On another defensive drive, my opponent miscounted how far I was from his ball handler and what do I do? I do a block with my Tree before moving the majority of my players and I get a double skulls heh. If I had moved the other players first (but less range due to the player next to my Tree being in the way) I would have put up some tough defence to challenge my opponent, possibly even steal the ball.

Whilst the rolls were a little unlucky on these two plays, I really brought it on myself as I could have done the higher percetntage plays first heh.

Second half was another close tight affair.

At 4-4 there was just a one turn drive left. My opponent only put two of his four? sidesteppers on the line of scrimmage, possibly fearing some major injury as he had no apothecary left.. I was able to get three 3 dice blocks on him to push him and Catcher 3 squares forwards.

From there it was a simble 3+ dodge (with Dodge RR), 3+ Dodge (with Team RR) and GFI (with Team RR) to get the sneaky one turn chain push TD to steal the match.
----------------
Was a very fun game against a fun coach and I look forward to a rematch sometime.
