#14 Imrithal Rainweaver – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#14 Imrithal Rainweaver – Smashed Knee (NI)
Luck reading is out due to the game hanging near the end of my opponent's 7th turn in the first half. The luck at that point was 40-63 in his favour (lots of 1s for me, lots of Pows for him!). The replay file may not show what happened up to this point due to the disconnection and reload.
---------------
Handicaps were:

Morleys Revenge (on one Catcher)
Doom and Gloom
Duh Where am I? (on Caldoris Thundercall, Str5 Wardancer)
Bad Press
Illegal Drugs (Str6 Tackle Mummy)
------------------
Essentially, Guardians kicked. Saints caused a niggle on their first or second block (first pow anyway) and the Guardians did not use their apothecary (50 SPP Blodge Guard lino).

The Saints picked up the ball in the wet did not screen it that well. The Guardians were able to open a path and then blitz the ball carrier and the ball fell free. The Guadians penetrated, scooped up the ball and lobbed it deep.

The Saints knocked out a few Guardians whilst trying to get to the ball, but made a tactical error and left the Count with the recovered ball one square from the sidelines. A one dice push put him onto the edge and Caldoris blitzed him out causing a KO and he stayed knocked out for the rest of the game.

The Guardians got the ball and swung it wide. They could have scored at about turn 6, but a snakes (1 on Caldoris blitz action with Bonehead and then a 1 on the dodge) ended the turn early.

This was when there was a disconnection. My opponent managed to get yet another pow and knock the ball loose.

The Guardians made some sweet 3+ dodges and a 4+ pick up to set up a throw of the ball (needing 5- for intercept, then 3+ 3+) but rolled the 1 on the final dodge and knocked their Wardancer out!

Halftime, and it was the Saints kicking. Despite the wet and a tackle zone, the ball was caught on the line of scrimamge by a Guardians catcher. The kick off was Injury Time so only 7 turns to run down the clock and score in the wet muddy conditions.

The Guardians ran the ball back whilst feinting down one wing. The Saints brought down a Catcher and fouled him, causing a Badly Hurt injury but getting sent off in the process - 10 players each.

The Guardians pushed forward and caused a Badly Hurt injury on the Saints Wight leaving them with one tackler! They then fouled the Saints Ghoul in the backfield and knocked him out, but got their own Dirty Player ejected. Still, it was 9 Guardians vs 8 Saints.

The Saints then got another pow to open up a blitz on the Guaridans Wardancer with their Str6 Mummy. 2 GFI needed and my opponent got an unlucky snake-eyes (burning up a RR) on the second and he fell over. Phew!

The Saints then did 3 blocks for 3 more pows and fouled another Guardians catcher out of the game with a MNG.

The Guardians delayed longer, and spread out whilst they knocked out a Zombie to take maintain a 8 to 7 player advantage (though my Treeman had been down pretty much the entire half!).

The Saints caused another injury on a catcher, this time a -MA and the Guardians decided to use their apothecary despite the Saints having two turns left. The Guardians passed the ball downfield and delayed yet another turn before scoring to seal the match.

With one turn left, my opponent did a cheap turn 16 foul with his Dirty Player. Luckily no injury from this 'sporting' gesture.
-----------------
Well it was always going to be pretty one sided with the mismatched teams. The mud made it difficult for both of us, and early on, I rolled a stack of 1s and some double skulls to very quickly use up my 3 rerolls. My opponent rolled a lot of pows and got the early permanent damage hit on me to put me under pressure.

Thanks to kick, the ball was close up and my opponent in my opinion made a mistake in not screening the carrier well enough. I only needed a 2+ dodge to set up a 2 dice block down the bottom wing to get a push or better to then open up a blitz path. I got the push or pow and my Str5 Wardancer was in with 2 dice on his ball carrier.

He was knocked over and I was able to get the ball and throw it deep.

My opponent I thought made another error when the count was left near the sidelines with the ball. I took the risky move of sending him out of bounds with the ball rather than knocking him down infield and the ball scattered near his Wight.

I was able to recover it but yet more Pows without tackle knocked it free again. I had another chance to score but it required a lot of luck and I didn't get it.

Second half it was just a case of spreading out with my much faster players and running down the clock. Not much my opponent could do with just the one slow tackler after I injured his Wight. Well, that should have been the case, but the constant rain of pows kept the game much closer than it should have been given the huge TR/TS difference.

However, the Saints just did not put enough pressure on my Thrower and I was always going to have a couple of scoring options somewhere needing 3+ to catch with a RR.

Anyways, a recovery now needed... and a decent player permanently injured. Niggles by themselves aren't that bad, but when giving away 5 handicaps and thus Virus occuring 1 in 3, 3 nigglers is way too many heh. So someone is going to have to go....
