SWL Season 27: Gone's Slipper Conference League- Game 1

The first game back for the Vermin after a long exile, Germany faced off against long time nemesis, the Amazorcs. We were keen to avenge the deaths of Karl Jung & Otto von Bismarck, though a little short staffed as a result of the cull (10 players).

The game started well for Germany, with the Vermin fans swamping the Ref, and making sure he didn't bother any Skaven for the first half. We recieved the ball off the opening kick, and quickly KO'd 2 Amazorcs. They replied by fouling Karl Benz out of this game, and the next one too. This seemed to wake up the Matt Tinsen (Tinsnips to his mates), who started to fire up, crippling Face Maula, and ending her career. With ball in hand, we skirmished with Amazorcs for most of the first half, during which Manfred finally got a casualty against his name, by badly hurting Lil Catcha. Congrats Manfred, it only took you 74 games!

By the end of the first half, we'd managed a TD through Wilhelm, but had also, due to poor defence, allowed an Amazorc TD as well.

While they were level on the scoreboard, the Amazorcs were losing the battle for survival on the pitch, and they started the second half with only 6 players on the field, to Germany's 9. The Vermin blitzed off the kick, flooding into the open Amazorc backfield, and allthough there was a rare failed play between Manfred and Wilhelm, the Amazorcs were unable to recover the ball, with Face Slappa handing it straight back to Wilhelm, who scored his second TD.

Kicking once more, the Apothecary was soon required to save the life of Albert Speer. We continued to inflict pain of our own, mostly through Matt Tinsen, though the biigest scalp of the match went to Alfred Rosenberg in the fourth turn of the second half when he fouled Hand Bitah to death. with the Amazorc apothecary unable to help out twice in one game.

That injury signalled the end of any real resistance by the Amazorcs, who were unable to stop Manfed & Wilhelm from combining to put Louise Cooper away for her maiden TD in her debut game.

At long last, Germany have started to take some revenge on the Amazorcs, but don't think it ends here.... It never ends....

Twahnlow Votes
3 votes- #10 Face Slappa: Managed a TD with barely any Amazorc support, and made a mockery of the German defence to score the only TD for WTWO. Also almost killed Albert Speer, and kept the Amazorcs from being total targets.

2 votes- #11 Arm Breaka: Could have probably scored a second TD for the Amazorcs, but decided that she didn't want to force her teammates to set up on the LOS. She gets two points for displaying wisdom beyond her years.

1 vote- #15 Elf Bruisa: Didn't manage to injure anyone, but was effecftive in keeping the game from turning into a total massacre, along with her strong friend Hind Bitah. Hand Bitah might have got the casualty, but Elf Bruisa managed to survive the game, and that earned her the vote.

SWL Season XXVII - Gone's Slipper Conference League XXVII - Round 1

The first half saw us brutalised by the menacing stormvermin, Matt Tinsen. By the end of the half, we were well and truly outnumbered, and never had a shot at stopping Kaiser Wilhelm. As a consolation prize, Face Slappa managed to sneak in a touchdown right on the buzzer, so despite the lack of players on the pitch, we were still tied on the scoreboard.

Half time score: 1-1

The second half saw much of the same. A blitz let the vermin score a bonus touchdown (check the scatter where a failed pickup saw the ball land in Wilhelm's greasy little mitts without him even trying... Anyway without numbers, we were basically out of the game, and though we had a bit of a shot at a TD, didn't take it (the vermin would have had plenty of time to score again anyway). The cas didn't let up either, and in around turn 6 or 7, Hand Bitah met her maker -- probably the best player on the team, but no more.

All in all, a disappointing match .. as long as we remember it, we'll be out for revenge next time round!

Final score: 1-3

Twahnlow Votes

3 pts: Matt Tinsen
The star of the team ... we barely got a hit on him, and he spent all match removing our players from the pitch. We wants him dead.

2 pts: Kaiser Wilhelm
Ran around in circles in the first half - we couldn't lay a finger on him. Critical player in all three touchdowns. We wants him dead too...

1 pt: Manfred von Richthofen
No one else really deserves any votes, but we'll give the last one to Manfred so he doesn't feel left out...
