SWL Season XXXI - Premier League XXXI - Round 7

The final match for the girls, and what a match it was!

The first half saw Cameron tear through the team, racking up 3 casualties. When we attempted to retaliate, the ref sent of not one, but TWO players!!! Since when did that rule come in?

The main highlight of the half (other than the wolf running around all over the place) was Steve's mighty fine work wading into the midst of the "cage" we were trying to construct, and smacking poor Krazy Tossa to the ground. That move came close to winning the match for the necros, but somehow we got the ball through to the other side, and took in a touchdown in turn 8.

Half time score: 1-0

With just 9 players taking to the field (thanks ref =\), things weren't looking up. Steve finally fell victim to a 1d block (KO), helping even up the numbers. Not for long though. It didn't seem like even a turn had passed, and we suddenly found that there were just 4 friendly players left on the pitch (and 7 of the opposition)!

A lucky bounce saw the ball come free, and we punted it up the field. Not quite far enough, unfortunately -- Cameron was just barely quick enough to get the ball, and run the length of the pitch for a touchdown in turn 16.

Final score: 1-1

Twahnlow Votes

3 pts: Cameron
3 cas in the first half, and ran 3/4 of the length of the pitch to make the equaliser. Definitely the player of the match!

2 pts: Steve
For not falling over (despite a number of attempts to mob him). Steve came close to winning the game early in the match with a solid POW on the ball carrier (after one of those attempts to mob him.

1 pt: Rob
The only player on the team with guard, Rob was right in the thick of things all match. Just like Steve, he wouldn't fall, wouldn't die, and eventually played a crucial role in getting Cameron through for the touchdown.

A fifth draw to finish the season in style. Kind of wanted a draw in a way, a win didn't get me out of 6th placed anyway, and now I can properly complain about too many draws this season.

I won't try and compete with Laviak's match report, but suffice to say it was another draw that we should have been able to win.

Twanhlows:
3 Spine Thumpa - Deserves full credit for the td, did a lot of work to get it. Was also the player who finally managed to knock Steve out in the second half.
2 Arm Breaka - Did most of the work getting the ball off us in the second half, giving us barely enough time to score once let alone twice for the win.
1 Kidnee Basha - Threw the ball away forcing Cameron to take a very long run just to equalise.
