“FUMBBL Cup X Round 1

Well, someone predicted this would be a 2-1 snoozefest. They may have got the score right, but this was anything but boring. Kryten's inkies got the ball away from my tools on a high-risk/high-reward maneuver and managed to score on T8 of the 1st half when I had chosen to receive. All his KOs came back so it was 11 to 9. He got an early KO against and now it was 10 to 9. 2nd half I just barely managed to beat the ball out of him and stall for my own T8 score. OT came and he won the toss. Numbers were 11 to 8 I think, could have been 11 to 9 again. Kryten was very patient and I got caught out of position. Then he made a mistake or two of his own and time was running out. Feeling the pressure, he threw a pass over Axe's head, who was marked, but the blitzer plucked the ball out of the sky like a Slann Catcher going after a mosquito! But the Tools were not out of danger and the ball hit the ground no less than 3 times. Finally, on T8 and with no rerolls, I knocked it out of his blitzers hands and at the feet of Axe who scooped it up and ran it in (on a gfi) as the final whistle blew.

Very exciting game and a couple of firsts:

1st INT for this team
1st game I've ever RIP'd a Star Player (silly Eldril and your hypnotic gaze)
1st win for me against Kryten (and I had to have the deck stacked against him to do it)
1st win for me in a Ranked or Blackbox tournament EVER!

The Tools are in good shape for their next opponent, whoever it might be. Thanks for the great game, Kryten. I hope the fans got their money's worth. And thanks for the advice, 'You have to ask from Nuffle if you want to receive'.”
