#8 Hook – Dead (RIP)
A moderate crowd turned out to watch Necromantic team Broken Bones attempt to end the 'Saws winning streak - 10 consecutive games at kick off. The orcs were chasing their 200th win.

Receiving, a wight caught the ball and tried to follow the wolves in as they aimed to clear the way. Instead they met substantial green resistance. Suffering only a solitary KO, the orcs were getting close to the ball, and the wight made a break for it. A lineman pushed a marker from Major and he blitzed the wight and failed to bring it down. However, with the wolves and flesh golems marked, Coach ErobererZim opted to try the dodge and the wight face planted. Hothammer stepped in to send Aztec away to score on the counter attack.

2 turns left in the half, and the Broken Bones players were a bit shellshocked. More misfortune befell them as another failed block left a big opportunity and Aztec stole the ball from under the nose of the the dangerous wolf RKO. A failed zombie block caused another quick turnover and all of a sudden it was 2-0 with the 'Saws to receive in the 2nd half.

Overconfidence set in for the orcs, whilst the half time team talk (or dog food) worked a treat, and the 2nd half was the complete opposite. A perfect defense left the orcs in disarray. The Necromantic side homed in on Hothammer and he desperately threw it to Pantheon who got himself almost clear. RKO could just reach him, as could a ghoul, but he's no ordinary orc! Regardless, the last ditch blitz knocked him down and badly hurt him, and there was little the 'Saws players could do about the TD from there.

Somewhere in the melee, Hook was maimed. When the apothecary told Coach Chainsaw that all he could do was put the blitzer down, he nodded to confirm. I mean, you don't have to pay a dead orc anything.

Now it was the orcs failing at every turn as they fell apart. Hothammer failed a pickup as the orc blocks started doing more harm to the cause than good. A crazy frenzy by the faster wolf - on its own up against Neymar and Hothammer - still brought down the thrower. The wolf then dodged away, grabbed the ball next to Hothammer, then dodged away again to score much to the shock of the travelling 'Saws fans.

2 turns left - this was a familiar situation. Hothammer got marked, and almost failed the dodge (rerolled) to make Coach Chainsaw sweat. Fortunately it seemed the orcs had burned their bad luck up in the previous 2 plays, and the pass to the goblin came off before Aztec just shoved RKO out of the way to make room for the goblin to dash home the winner.

11 consecutive wins for the orcs. That's a pretty good run. Pantheon, I hear, doesn't like losing so his team mates seem to produce that little bit extra around him. 200 wins and counting!
