“Hellmouths faced a Cheaters side again here and were ready for some early attacks from all the secret weapons. But we weren't ready enough as the saws and bombs were devastating.

We started off with the ball and Devil ko'd a gobbo. But soon the bombers rained their hits on us with Big King amongst others being knocked down and dropping the ball and Hellmouth being ko'd. A herded was ko'd by a saw, another was badly hurt in a block and Grobluk was sent off for ko'ing a pogoer in a foul. Big King picked up the ball again and went off to attack a saw wielder. But he somehow slipped right in front of him! Then the Cheaters started kicking him about. Our numbers were dwindling, including a saw injury to Pokit 'ard and then a shocking slip from Monkey confirmed this half was a mess from the Hellmouths. We were down to 2 well before halftime and after a handoff a kicker easily took a TD.


Despite some earlier fails Big King had recovered from his ko and showed his talent in the 2nd half when he raced forward as soon as he could. He leaped over the enemy LOS, tripped up the gobbo ball carrier, avoided chainsaw hurt, then got away from grabbing hands, took up the ball and scored the equalizer.

We were then 8 v 10 and after that a saw wielder again was taking out our players turn after turn. Another slip from Big King made things tougher for us but our remaining players did some heroic leaping and dodging in to the cage to get at the carrier. There were some great efforts which twice took him down but we just couldn't do enough and eventually outgobbo'd (4 v 9) conceded the second TD.”
