#11 J'ar Balz – Groin Strain (MNG)
#14 Mel'lee Petrz – Dead (RIP)
White Rock finally is able to claim the Superior Bowl championship! Relezites dwarfs decided to bring a chainsaw and a bribe rather than a wizard and bribe. Coach Rel expressed his preference for not using a wizard with a slow non agile team. As it turned out the chainsaw stayed on the pitch for 11 turns, but didn't really contribute much. Would a wizard have helped? Hard to say, White Rock is used to facing them in most matchups, but the wizard scares us more than a pesky saw.

White Rock took the opening kick off, and in spite of some poor results blocking was able to get a score on turn 5 using some elfy ball movement. However, the position had degraded badly so a longer stall was not in the cards. For the dwarf drive it was still 11 vs. 11 as both White Rock KOs came back, and the apo was used on an early badly hurt.

Hong Kong was able to control the ball easily, but it took them a couple turns to move to mid field. On their turn 7 they got their running 8 paces out, but White Rock was able to stone the path ahead of him, and the Hong Kong blocking lead to prone players and Hong Kong players making it impossible to even attempt a score. It was 1-0 White Rock at the half.

Second half and a short kick coupled with a perfect defense allowed White Rock to put early pressure on the ball, but again, Hong Kong was able to secure it. though the half also started with 11 men on each side, Hong Kong quickly started removing White Rock players, including killing Mel'lee Petrz, though Mel was looking at retirement after the game anyway. By turn 6 the White Rock situation was pretty dire, one last ditch effort was made to attempt to halt the score, but with only 6 elfs on the pitch, and more poor blocking the decision was made on turn 7 to simply lay down and run away, preserve what bodies we could for over time.

The overtime coin flip went Hong Kongs way, and they finally started a drive with a man advantage 11-7. The kick was middle deep, and Hong Kong took their blocks, and moved a couple dwarfs back to help with a cage, but disaster finally struck the dwarfs, as their runner botched the pick up. White Rock had a chance now, their speed was enough to put 4 elfs between the dwarfs at the line of scrimage, including Aaroon who made it all the way next to the ball. The dwarfs who had moved back to cage were marked as well, there was no tackle available to dislodge Aaroon from his position.

Hong Kong however swarmed the elfs around the LOS, and put as much pressure as they could around the ball, when Marco was able to pick it up and dodge away from Aaroon, moving the ball to as safe a location as he thought possible at the time. Indeed there was no really safe place, but Mik Schwaeet the only tackler was marked and needed to go 3+ 3+ 2+ on dodges to get the 2d blitz. Other 2d blitzes were also possible, but none with tackle, and using Aaroon to blitz would have meant he would have had less movement potentially to pick up the ball if it came out.

The moment of truth for White Rock then. Mik lined up his blitz, made his dodges, and landed a POW! Aaroon lept out of his markers, picked up the ball, and still had enough speed to move to a mostly safe position on the upper side of the pitch. Jenif then abused her AG6 to mass dodge out of heavy marking to complete the screen, making it very difficult for any tacklers to reach Aaroon.

Hong Kont sized up the situation and once again marked Aaroon with their diving tackle blitzer, and sent a desperation blitz with their star troll slayer, he made his 5+ dodge to get a free shot at Aaroon, but missed his gfi for the blitz. Now the game came down to Aaroon dodging out of diving tackle as White Rock had no rerolls left for him to leap with. He made his dodge on the 1st attempt and scooted in for the winning TD.

An ugly game for White Rock honestly, they played well, but simply were getting out positioned and out blocked by the dwarfs, this one should have rolled Hong Kongs way, but in the end, elf magic took over as it is wont to do.

And, as his reward for landing the game saving blitz, Mik Schwaeet was immediately cut to make room in the salary cap. Such is life in the NWFL though, Mik insists he'll be back as soon as the team has the cash to rehire him.
