Both sides felt confident warming up. The Elves elected to kick first. The Norse quickly head up the left flank and made decent progress but struggled to removed elves from the field. They did knock some out. In return Ingjald was Badly Hurt due to his lack of block as he was targeted by Pipp. Hemming was also punished for his lack of armour and knocked out from a dastardly foul by supposedly noble High Elves! Eventually weight of numbers dictated that the Norse switch flanks before stalling. However eventually the ball carrier was being pressed on all sides and another foul took out Jared who could have helped relieve the pressure. The Norse did eventually manage to remove Pipp from the game and even with the apothecary's attention Pipp still suffers a niggling injury from the blow. The Norse strolled over to take the lead.

This gave the Elves time to respond and they had plenty of rerolls in hand. The Norse defended too narrow, intending on dealing with the receivers as they came through. They bought the well orchestrated feint and did little to deal with the blitzer on the opposing side (Why oh why did I not blitz him-brain fart!). He shook his markers with ease as Han provided a link up man to bring the ball downfield and pass to him in the endzone in a well orchestrated move.

In the second half it was the Elves turn to revieve but Hemming snuck through a half gap in the screen created by Sigmund to sack the ball carrier. With the ball loose the Norse looked to capitlise but Hemming was quickly sent back to the sidelines and a quick play saw Bion Dean tick on his second touchdown of the evening to put the Coolers in front.

The Norse did not put their screen together very well and the Elves looked to pounce on an early missed pick up. While the Norse managed to scramble the ball away it left Sigmund relatively exposed with the ball. Despite plenty of Elves piling in he managed to keep his feet and end up surrounded by elves. Jared managed to push through and give the runner have a gap to scramble through. The Elves attempted to catch up but nuffle had abandoned them this drive and tripped over their own feet. This was the break the Norse had waited for and quickly sent Elves away on stretchers.

More good play from the Elves did allow them to sneak the ball loose on a last ditch tackle but the outnumbered Elves were pushed away from the ball allowing the score.

This time there was no time for a quick classy Elven touchdown but a Blitz gave the Norse a chance at the win. Unfortunately the ball was too deep to get pressure on it and in spite of some exceptional go for it rolls the Elves easily sent the ball to the other side of the pitch where the over committed Norse could not get it back on time.

All in all a game where both sides will rue mistakes and Nuffle hurting them at various times and think what might have been. It is hard to argue against a draw and a result that leaves both sides in play off contention.
