#14 Major or Minor Improvement – Fractured Leg (MNG)
Apologies for falling foul of the FUMBBL inducement rules and buying a card (that I didn't use). Thanks for being a Gent in spite of some poor old fortune. Good luck with the team!

#1 Longdrought Yellowgrass – Fractured Leg (MNG)
Purplegoo...legend. I would use a team of snotlings against his dwarves just to have the pleasure of his conversation for an hour or so. Fortunately, I didn't need to, as my wood elves were available instead. Less fortunately, they decided to play like a bunch of snotlings.

Against an opponent of this calibre, you only really get one opportunity to control the game, and today that opportunity ended in an interception. To be fair though, Purplegoo then gave me another opportunity - which was nice of him - and that one ended in a failed dodge by the very same interception thrower. Not his finest hour, although he did still manage 3 for 26, which is about standard for a poor game. And to be fair, his final long bomb was dropped, so that's not exactly his fault.

Anyway, apart from the misfiring passing game, the rest of the gang were performing quite well - whenever they weren't sitting out the drive because of the sweltering heat. (Bunch of wusses - at one point there were five of them taking it easy under the awnings). Thursdaynight notched up another casualty, but sadly not the MVP - it's now been a few games without one, and he still has twelve to go for the top spot.

The Firebrands really didn't have much trouble here. Neither team had any tackle, but that was more of a problem for me as only three of the wood elves have dodge anyway, and one of them is a tree! And their ST4 blitzers were basically untouchable.

I did manage a couple of impressive plays. The best was when the thrower made a stunning turn 8 long bomb all the way downfield to an open lineman. The fact that he couldn't reach the endzone was a pity, but it was either that or risk another interception - and that was always assuming the wardancer made his leap and dodge anyway which, considering my level of skill, was a big ask.

The other was my catcher's double POW on a -2-dice block. It didn't lead to an injury, had no effect on the outcome, and just meant he was standing there ready to be knocked over on the following turn, but it felt like an achievement at the time.

Not much in the way of winnings, sad to say, but it does at least give me enough for a second catcher. However, I think I'll leave it for one more game as the wardancer took a SI and will be recovering and it might be better to let the rookie catcher ease his way in with a game in which he might not be the primary target for blocks and fouls.

But yeah, the game may have been seriously one-sided, but the chat was definitely more of a high-scoring draw!
