“Fast and furious - and essentially, all over by turn 4.

I think it's fair to say I'm not a particularly careful player - especially when (like tonight) I', watching tv at the same time. So I have no one to blame but myself for the fact that I totally missed the fact that Ohwatch hired a wizard with his inducements money. In fact, if I'm being totally honest, I forgot you could even hire them again!

So anyway, there I was at the start of the game, playing my usual game of keep the thrower back and run everyone else downfield. When the entire rat team then ran past my line and put themselves between the thrower and the other elves I wasn't overly concerned as I can easily find space to throw most of the time and I just accept the occasional double fumble as a risk I have to take. And then suddenly I was turned into a toad.

So that was kind of embarrassing. Nor did it get any better when I failed an easy dodge to try and get back to the ball with one of the catchers. And then the toad was BH, so the passing game was a complete non-starter.

And then on the following kick-off I suffered a blitz and the whole (not very) carefully planned offence went out the window. I suddenly forgot how to block...or dodge...and to be honest I was lucky the rats didn't sneak in another score before the half.

In the second half things turned a little brutal. The rats kept the ball way back and settled in to trying to do as much damage as possible to the wood elves. In return, I hit anything that came within branch-reach of the tree while trying to keep enough of a team upright to attempt a try on the ball-carrier. But he could move 10 and simply rolled a pile of 6s when he finally decided to come forward and throw a pass to a waiting lineman, who then ran it away into the far distance.

So a horrible game for passing stats, and the best I can say about that aspect of the game is at least the thrower was only BH, so he doesn't miss another game. On the other hand, Spiderplant picked up a couple more casualties and no one was injured. Also, good winnings, which I chose not to spend on the grounds that I already have a rookie lineman and thought it might be better to hang on to the cash in case I need to replace a wardancer any time soon.

So well played Ohwatch. As you say, a victory with five journeymen is quite impressive, and hopefully the easy win will help you on your path to full recovery.
