Juggernaut
Gruff is both a ponderous and surprisingly content troll. Generally seen with a small grin over his face, it is not uncommon to see him standing outside the teams locker room, lost in his own thoughts. Yet once he reaches the pitch, things change. The rather docile looking troll becomes a rampaging juggernaut and is likely to be seen facing off against the opposing teams Big Guy head to head. It is fortunate that he is a troll for the amount of times he has been struck down has been uncountable and yet he always manages to get back up. His role as the teams' "Roadblock" has proven invaluable and certainly due to his already troll toughness, it has proven to be ideal. Both for him and the Goblins!

Blood Bowl is far from safe. In fact one would have to be very mad to get involved in the sport in the first place! However others sometimes tend to take things more into their own hands, particularly if they are not fond of a certain player. During a match against a human team, just as the clock was running out, a gunshot burst from the crowd which struck Gruff with a serious injury to his skull. Fortunately the apothecary was able to repair the damage but it is still unknown of the identify of the assassin. Rumours abound of "not being payed" being a motivation behind this but this has yet to be confirmed.

Gruff suffered his first lasting serious injury on his 82nd match after a ferocious gang foul against a Chaos team. Initially even the mighty hardiness of the troll was not enough to save him from death but the apothecary managed to save just enough for him to receive a broken neck and his regeneration was not enough to complete the apothecaries handiwork. Although he survived the ordeal, Gruff's record of not missing a single match unfortunately came to an end. Though the troll himself doesn't seem to mind as his docile demeanour seems to imply.
