Shards of the Dark Crystal
In 2515 the Emperor, for so long a frail, dying and departing ruler, decided that in order to survive, his denizens needed a distraction from their every day quarrels. Thus, the Skeksis were sent to capture underlings to serve alongside their more unruly members in an effort to both entertain the masses, and possibly rid society of those the Emperor deemed undesirable.
However, the game has proved popular amongst the Skeksis, and many now see the pitch as a possible alternative to trial by stone in order to prove ascendancy. As a result of this revelation, the Emperor himself has been forced to take to the field in order to assert his own dominance, and emboldens the side against all opposition.

The Skeksis are still a cunning, malevolent and altogether unruly race, and take great pleasure in on-field mayhem and destruction. As such, they are given to keeping record of what they deem to be great outcomes. Whichever scoreboard they occur on...
