<div >The folks from the fringe town of Snorriheim played host to a team in the Southern Wastes League for the first time <i>way</i> back in Season 5. There really wasn't much choice in the matter - a bunch of rambunctious orcs had arrived and flatly stated they wanted to be in the bowl. It was either put up or leave a bunch of idle greenskins to cause havoc in the surrounding swamplands.</div>

<div >So poor ol' Coach Snorri got promoted to look after 'em. Volunteered more like. Coach is always grumbling that volunteering always seems to happen after one's fallen unconcsious at the bar. Not that he has much to complain about as his career as a coach rocketed into the limelight as the <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=95334">Karaz Krasherz</a> broke into the Premiership group in just their third season! The game of blood bowl became an overnight sensation in Snorriheim and a great new stadium was erected for the unlikely stars (da orcs).</div>

<div >Stories of the Krasherz' success spread far and wide very quickly. Particularly of the coach's ability to mould an orcish team to play a very successful brand of elf bowl (of course, the vicious and unfortunate rumours of roid use that circulated with these stories probably helped the couriers that delivered them to travel twice as fast). So it was on the wings of these rumours that a response came...quite unexpectedly.</div>

<div >Unheralded, a great arkship of Naggoroth sailed into the quiet port of Snorriheim one foggy winter's morning. There the ghostly ship dropped anchor and has loomed ominously over the once bustling harbourside ever since the beginning of Season 8. Rumours of Snorri's short, but illustrious career had reached the elves from the mountains of ice and they'd set forth immediately to gamble on his talents for coaching elfbowl. Whether it is theirs or Snorri's gamble is still a mystery.</div>

<div >Their arrival was marked with a genuine feeling of fait accompli by the folks from Snorriheim. Remarkably unusual given the arrival of an arkship, but then they already played host to an orc team and one which played remarkably elvishly at that. Coach Snorri wouldn't comment on it, so that was settled then. </div>

<div >The Vanguard began playing as the second string team to the Krasherz in Season 8 - honing their skills under the Coach and preparing for the big time. Waiting in the wings behind an elforc team might have seemed strange to some, but when you're an elf there's always time - those orcs would not be around forever. Sure enough, Season 9 saw the SWL administration flex its muscles and bring in some league changes. After a successful season in the Premiership, the Krasherz were left by the side. The Krasherz weren't too disappointed though, tis not like an orc to stay sitting on da one spot for too long - so they've taken their peculiar brand of bowl on the road! </div>

<div >And so the Vanguard have their chance in the limelight! <i>Will Snorri survive <b>the gamble</b>?</i></div>
