The game of Socka or Futbowel is played by the Orcs of Albion (called Branzhum in orcish) and is run by the Orc Association of Futbowelers or OAF for short.
It is most popular in the industrial towns such as Llandin, Mukcester, Norcinghum and Buggeriham. But is also played in the large seaside towns such as Skouse Porte and Bricgstowe.
Working class Orcs are the most common players of the game although some other races do play too. They despise the ‘Egg Chasing’ games like ‘Rhugga’ played mainly by Elves with an oval shaped ball.
There are many popular teams each with there own colours, some of the most well know are: The Gunnaz, the Devilz, the Hammurz, the Penshunaz, the Villanz, the Spurz, the Toonz, and the Toffz. There are also the Redz, the Wightz (an undead team) and the Bluez . Then there are the Wargz (a Necromantic team) the Pyratz (a Skaven team) and the Forreztarz who are the only well known Elf team. The non-Orc teams often have a few Orcs in their teams too as it is difficult for them to find enough playerz.

The team consists of 11 playerz although a squad can have 16 and in special competitions 22. The playerz come in three types: -
Attaka or Shoota whose job is to score to win the game.
Stoppa whose job is to stop the other sides Attaka’s from scoring by beating them up.
Goalie whose job is to stand about collect the ball and kick it up the other end.
There is also a ‘Couch’ who sits on the sidelines during the game whose job is to shout at the players, and the other usual hangers on who do nothing much.

So how did they end up playing Blood Bowl?
The easy answer is that they like a good punch up but in fact it seems more likely that it was due to unscrupulous government Goblins (known as Empees) trying to make some extra gold crowns out of expenses and allowances.

It was announced that there was going to be an ‘Old World Futbowel Cup’ and that Albion would be entering a team drawn from the best players of all the famous teams.
Cyrus-Havoc a well-known Couch was selected to choose the team and shout at it during the World Cup and they were duly despatched to the Old World to play.

It is well known that Orcs are not the brightest creatures and the difference between Futbowel and Bloodbowl in orcish is minimal and of course they have total trust in their Empee’s!
