HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT Over a century ago, women in Atlantis became fed up with being ignored by men. They had grown tired of filling the traditional rolls of house wives, teachers, and servants. Finally, a small group left the comfort of Atlantian Society and set out to locate a new home. They found it in a low lying valley between two immense mountains, and they named it Clea Vage Valley. This beautiful and fertile valley was exactly what they were looking for, a land they could call there own, unspoiled by men. They quickly settled in and began building, settling on the name of Babylon for this new village. When word got out that they had set up this small village, some men were curious to see how they had done, others were outraged. Eventually, the more agitated and offended males won out and an armed force was sent out to bring these 'wayward' females back to Atlantis. This force was met with unexpected force and ferocity and was soundly defeated. Realizing they would needed male 'servants' for breeding purposes, the Babylonians took several of the soldiers that survived captive. With the defeat of their force, the Atlantian counsel decided to strike all references to these renegade females from their records, leaving the women of Babylon to grow and prosper on their own. IMAGES OF BABYLON Babylon City first started as small homes along the Vixen River and the shores of Lake Shimmer. Shortly after the first attack by the men of Atlantis, and later raids from Orcs and Goblins, they decided it would be safer to move the city out to the middle of the lake. It now rests atop the small island Geespot located in Lake Shimmer. There are still some settlements along the Vixen River. That is also where the DD Colosseum can be found, north of Lake Shimmer. There are many Goddesses worshiped at the High Temple located in the heart of Babylon City. Among the most popular are Athena, Nike, Diana, and Isis. There is a detailed list of the should you want to learn a little more. This is an alphabetical list of the top 12 Goddesses worshiped at the High Temple of Babylon City. Some of them share aspects of life that are of great importance to the women of Babylon. Athena - Goddess of war and wisdom and domestic crafts. Cerridwen - Goddess of moon, magic, agriculture, nature, poetry language, music, art, science and astrology. Diana - Goddess of the hunt and wild animals. Epona - Protector of horses, donkeys, and mules. Epona's Goddess name comes from the word epos meaning "great mare." Frigg - Goddess of marriage, childbirth, motherhood, wisdom, household management and weaving and spinning. Hella - The fearsome Goddess of the Nordic realm of the dead. Hera - Queen of the Babylonian Goddesses and Goddess of marriage and birth. Isis - This famous Goddess has so many different aspects, her most important roles are as Goddess of life and magic. Minerva - Goddess of wisdom, medicine and crafts. Nike - This Goddess' name means victory, she represented success especially in the sporting arena, which is why her statue was erected in the teams training facility. Seshat - The great scribe and librarian Goddess who is responsible for accounting, architecture, astronomy, historical records and mathematics. Venus - Goddess and love and beauty. The DD Colosseum is located off of the Vixen River a couple of kilometers north of Lake Shimmer and Babylon City. It has seating for over 100,000 spectators. It also has retractable latex and lace panels to provide shade and protection from the elements to the spectators. There is a large circle in the middle that is always open to allow the Goddesses to look down on the Babes as they play. Key to the Training Facility: 1) Dining Hall and Meeting Rooms, it is also used for special celebrations. 2) Golden Statue of Athena atop a pillar of Marble. 3) Coaches Offices and private rooms. 4) Main housing area for the players. There is also a pool and spa on the lower level. 5) Training Area 6) Golden Statue of Nike atop a powerful Mare. Semicircular Exedra - All 4 contain (or have room set aside for) team memorabilia and artifacts.
