Mousillon Blood Knights
P [L] Vampire

Before the foundation of Bretonnia, Mousillon was but a small village built on a swamp at the estuary of River Grismerie. It became one of the founding Dukedoms and carried the device of the Fleur de Lys. Over the centuries, this "Cursed City" has risen and fallen in power many times.

The city was first struck down from the height of its power by plague. The Red Pox killed many in Bretonnia in 1813 IC, and Mousillon suffered its share of casualties. But when the Pox returned years later to the blighted coastal city, the devastation was nearly total.

Many years into the city's recovery, Duke Maldred of Mousillon launched a plot against the King. In a brutal siege, the usurper's claim to the throne was thwarted, and Maldred, in spite of his great powers of Necromancy, was slain. The Kingdom would never again recognize a Duke of Mousillon, in spite of many claims to that title from Maldred's family line.

Today, the city has fallen into disrepair. The murky swamp around the town encroaches on its walls, and dense fog shrouds the evil creatures that lurk all around. Those peasants who do live here have few occasions for celebration. But occasionally they are invited to join the pale, overbearing nobility of Mousillon for a Blood Bowl match. Despite the gloomy surroundings, the vampiric descendants of Maldred never seem to lose their appetite for the game.

7.17.13: A week of rest may have helped the Blood Knights, but not enough to secure the win over a game Morgheim Minions Chaos Pact side. And it was a chaotic game indeed, with chainsaws, wizards, and even a little help from frenzied fans. There is speculation that the potentially game-winning TD pass may have been intentionally fumbled by Baron Rouillard... twice. His comment? "Servants should not score if it can be avoided." Knights and Minions draw 1-1.

7.1.13: After the trail of the vanishing wood elves went cold, league officials replaced the Wardens on the Albion Conference schedule. Their replacements, from deep in the Empire, were the up-and-coming Wuppertal Wizards. Sponsored by the Colleges of Magic, the new team has generated some rumors that they bribed OWCC officials to let them enter the league and put some hurt on the Vampires from Mousillon. But the Wizards learned that while they may always be on time, they do not always get to win.

The match began with the Wizards receiving, but they could not keep the ball away from the Comte. Gervais dished the ball off to Baron d'Noirceur at the end zone for a touchdown. But in the second half, the Wizards showed incredible tenacity on defense, stopping the Blood Knights just inches away from the goal, and preventing a second score for Mousillon. In all, it was a hard fought match between certain future rivals. Blood Nights pick up their first win in league play over Wuppertal Wizards, 1-0.

OLDER

6.26.13: League officials are silent so far about the disappearance of the Knights' round three opponents. The wood elf Wardens of Tettoverde Woods have mysteriously vanished from their campsite. Star werewolf player Wilhelm Chaney was contacted by the Knights' coaching staff, in the hopes of finding a way to track the wood elves. But in an earlier interview, Chaney admitted that he doubts he'll find them. "They smell quite a bit like trees," said Wilhelm. "It's like trying to sniff out a nurgling in a fart factory." This writer was unable to locate a fart factory for clarification.

6.24.13: Amazon Isle Rangers proved their mettle, holding the Blood Knights to a single TD on the day. They seemed strangely resistant to the hypnotic masculine charms of Baron d'Noirceur. Speculation abounds as to why that might be. Julien Bessy was the only thrall standing at the end of regulation, and was awarded the MVP for the effort. A promotion from Orcidas may help him with his Kicking duties. Zons over Vamps 3-1

6.23.13: The Vampires, entering the OWCC mid season, were given a warm-up game against the official practice squad: snotlings. Even without significant opposition, Comte de la Foudre had a hard time keeping his eyes on the end zone. Luckily, a juicy waterboy was nearby when the Comte decided to go off for a bite.

Both the Comte and Baron Rouillard were able to work on their Blocking skills during the warm-ups. Which should come in handy against their first opponents in the division: the Amazon Isle Rangers.
