At peace and unconcerned with issues in the wider world, the ogres of Sabre Mountain were content with their lot in life. A chance encounter with an adventuring party from Kislev changed all of that. The men descended on the ogre camp, driving the ogres to a frenzy. Who were these strange creatures with their odd manner of dress, behaviour and speech? They must have been sent from the Maw itself.

The ogres tried to make the Kislevmen as comfortable as possible during their stay. They sat with rapt attention while the men told them wonderous stories of how they were governed by a mythical group of powerful creatures wielding the "inn comet axe", how facial hair is the mark of a true manly man, the uses of a trouser press and most importantly, how true civilised cultured gentlemen play a sport called blood bowl.

When the men left the mountains, stories of their accomplishments spread quickly and grew in pomposity. "I heard he could throw a rock further than the sky" one ogre was heard to remark to another. "I saw him hit another man so hard that all that was left of him was his boots," another said.

The visit of the kislevmen had brought an excitement and a newness that had been missing from the Sabre Mountains. The only issue now was how to reclaim that magic. "They visited us because of our magnficent feasts," "no, they came because of our fire pits"... Fierce fighting broke out amongst the ogres as to the best way to bring these men back. One particular group of ogres (using what passes for a brain in the Sabre Mountains) started to copy the dress, fashion and affectations of the men, as best as they could be remembered. They groomed their facial hair into something resembling a moustache, started wearing hats and trousers and taught themselves a variation of blood bowl using rules derived from the stories they had heard.
