With the recent success and retirement of the Middenheim Meatgrinders, several human teams in the locality were rapidly formed in an attempt to take the spotlight. The Middenland Maroons were among these teams. Consisted of some of the most eccentric and quite mad members of society, the Maroons were formed on a light whim, pitching what gold they could together and their Head Coach and Owner, Motley Morley, organizing equipment, training and gear.

While not exactly having any particular goal beyond the usual fame and fortune, the Middenland Maroons at intend to make their mark on the world of Blood Bowl, both as a team and individually. Motley Morley hopes for their team to attract the attention of some of the more famous Star Players of the Blood Bowl world to push the teams reputation further.

After Helmut Wulf was the first Star to feature on the team. Facing off against a Chaos team, he managed to injure a beastman, only for him later to hit himself with his own weapon twice. However, his efforts were good enough to help the Middenland Maroons beat and crush the Chaos 2-1.

After several matches hiring numerous Star Players, Helmut, Morg and Griff with varying success, the Maroons final match was oncoming.

The next match saw the Maroons once more fight a mighty Nurgle team. Griff was quickly hired. As much as things had been questionable in the past, the Maroons could not deny the immense performance the Star had been showing. Even worse, he had been carrying the team, saving them from the jaws of defeat. As he did here.

The defense was brutal, the Nurgle cutting a swathe through the humans. The Shogunador and Griff kept on the carriers heels though, eventually sacking it. Griff himself retrieved the ball and ensured it was out of reach, making it impossible for the Nurgle to score, ending the half 0-0.

The second match saw Griff retrieve the ball and bolting so fast up field, neither the Maroons or Nurgle could keep up with him. Clearing the entire pitch in record time, Griff scored to end the drive 1-0.

The Nurgle retaliated by cutting apart what few Maroons were left, Griff himself being knocked out, ending the game to a draw.

The Maroons were shocked at how Griff was now carrying their team through some very rough games. The star blitzer made no comment, simply marched off once more to his adoring fans. The Maroons celebrated in The Happy Dwarf but with less enjoyment as before. For they all knew they were not celebrating on "their" success, but Griffs.


It is to be seen what the Middenland Maroons do about this recent development.
