Ryder's Cove Wanderers Background
The Ryder's Cove traders and merchants are a rich group, earning huge amount of money by trading with distant regions. Thanks to their economic dominance, they was able to gain the political control of the city too and Ryder's Cove is now governed by the Guildmasters Council, a small council designated yearly by the most influential guilds.
The mirage of fortune has recently lured a lot of people in Ryder's Cove and the economic production of the city is not able to sustain them all. The criminality, smuggling and piracy have then raised to alarming level, due to the numbers of "adventurers" coming in. Hence, the Council has decided to try to open up new trading routes by setting up an expedition composed mainly by traders and explorers. It will move mainly by sea, but a few trips in the interiors are planned too. Due to the popularity of the Blood Bowl game in the continent, they thought a good idea to finance a team (Ryder's Cove Wanderers) too. Participating in tournaments around and/or just playing with local teams can be an easy way to establish friendly relationship with possible trading partners and setup small outposts.
But... Rumors on the streets say that some guildmaster may have some other interest too...
Team History: gathering
The birthday of the Ryder's Cove Wanderers will always be remembered.

The Guildmasters rented the largest and more popular inn of the city, the Black Rose Inn. People were excited by the new Blood Bowl team and were more than happy to finally have a local team different from the filthy halfling pirates. Foreign teams from distant places, weekly matches in the new stadium...

The crowd was rumbling when "Captain" Jaganzo spoke: "After showing this half-men how the game should be played, we will travel to distant places to challenge foreign teams. But Every time we will be back. And every time we will be the winners!".
And the crowd exulted!

Team History: stadium
Ryder's Cove Overwater Stadium is an impressive show of merchants and traders wealth. The Guild Council asked for a tribute by all its affiliate to build it, and the guilders responded.

The funds raised this way were so much that the chief builder decided to go for a really ambitious project: building the Ryder's Cove stadium over water...

"Let's try the new push-out-of-bounds tactic."
"Stisar, blitz and push him!"
"Philden, side step... I said SIDE STEP!"
sploooosh...
.

Team History: debut
From the funeral honors of Rinri:

Farewell Rirni. You served us well and you were loyal along your whole carrier.
You were good with quill and inkwell, with numbers and ledgers, as you were on the Blood Bowl pitch.
You just stepped in one match, and you were ready to sacrifice your life in the quest of freeing Ryder's Cove by those filthy pirates.
We will have no rest until your revenge, until the Half-Masters will be cleared from Ryder's Cove.
R.I.P.

The Guildmasters Council

Team History: first journey
Prologue...

"It's true I tell ye!" grumbled the old man sitting on the steps of the Black Rose, as some of the younger sailors laughed and poked fun at him as they drank.
"Bah, you young 'uns." He continued. He only had 3 teeth, and whistled and spat as he spoke. His long white beard matted with stale beer. "Use'r be a day folks like me'd command some re'spec. Green uns like yous would sit an lissen an learn a fing or two."
"Frogs?" One of the younger sailors stood as he addressed the old captain.
"I tells ye, Frogs, swears it on me three good teeth. Frogs big enough to swallow a man. Up in th' north somewhere. Non o yous dare go that far now though doos ya. Y'sall like a drink an float an pretend ya sailors but ye wunner leave the cove non os ya"
"Calm down grandad" One of the younger revellers shouted, and was met with whoops and laughs. The old man got up and left, mumbling to himself as he wandered home...

Team History: first journey
...continued...

In a barrack near the Overwater Stadium, Tholdten is talking to Jaganzo and Krurger: "....green.....frogs....North....".
Rirni run in the room, screaming: "Guys, the lodges are setting up a lot of new rooms. It seems a lot of teams from foreign lands will come here in Ryder's Cove. We have to get in touch with them, after the match with the filthy pirates, to schedule friendlies and so on!".
Jaganzo: "Calm down clerk. After the match with the Half-Masters, we will sail to the unknown North."
Rirni: "What? Are you mocking me? I have to register the strangers, take note of the trading goods they bring, setup contacts, and so on... The Council will not be pleased."
Jaganzo: "The Guildmasters will be able to control the situation here by themselves. I know they will be more happy when we will get back here from the distant North.".

Team History: Saarth
"Talking frogs? TALKING FROGS? You were drunk again, isn't it?", Lhegten yell while grabbing Tholdten's collar.
"Yeah, they said that...", Tholdten try to defend himself.
"They were jumping around us ready to bite us with their long teeth. We were lucky enough to barely escape from that pit!", Lhegten keep yelling, "The Guildmasters will not be happy that we didn't found anything useful here.".
"Well, I'm not really sure...", says Achemin getting back on the ship, "I found some tracks around, humanoid tracks, not frog ones, but no sign of life.".
"It doesn't matter now, we will sail back home.", Jaganzo tries to settle the dispute. And turning his gaze around looking for the Ogre, "And you, Kuska, never do it again if you want to hang with the team.Philden missing a game is not a good reason to go bone-head half of the game!".
"DOOOH?", Kuska.

Team History: back home
Excerpt from Kruger letter to the Council:

We are back in Ryder's Cove. As you expect from us, we started again cleaning the alleys from those filthy half-man smugglers. We killed two of them, but they keep coming from every hole. We lost another member, Jawarick, after Rirni: the treeman are really dangerous and we need the ogre to provide more punch. Anyway, we will stay here for a while, to make sure the pirates will not easily raise after our blows and to recruit some more guys to help us.

Waiting for you commands,
K.

Team History: Borosian Warriors
"I really think we should get in touch with the Harmony Decree", Krurger suggested, "I know they are scary at first, but they seems genuinely interested in keeping law and order. Maybe we should ask the Council for a treaty with the Borosian Warriors?"
"I don't know...", said Jaganzo, a bit perplexed, "Their strenght and discipline may be really useful against the halfling scums, but I'm not sure we can trust them. You are the Council men here now that Rirni is gone, so your call."
"I always appreciate your sincerity", Krurger approved, "I will try to get in touch with Weya Kantos, their captain, to arrange a match, we could decide after we have a better understanding of them."

...match...

"Ahahaha", Philden was laughing, "I cannot believe you was planning a treaty with them. They are so weak we pummeled them! The crowd was amused... Ahahaha"
"Shut up", Krurger said with a severe gaze, "They will be back, and it will be not so easy. I know it..."

Team History: Ualun, a new enemy
Excerpt from a Council letter to Krurger:

We expect a lot better from the team we setup.
We expected new travel routes and we got none.
We expected less crimes and we got murders.
We expected a ordered transactions and we got explosions and panic.

Get this damn tournament thing done and then get back for commands,
the Council

Team History: Shadowspires
"Are you sure about what we are doing here?", Krurger said to Jaganzo, "The Council want us back at home and we are going right into a forgotten places were we can easily gest lost..."
"Actually the Council said it want us back after the tournament", Jaganzo replied, "I'm sure it's a pretty good opportunity to gain respect from other nations and make our commerce easier. And we will not get lost, right Achemin?"
"It's not that hard, just follow me and be my shadows!", Achemin confirmed, "We will get it done..."

And so the Wanderers walked through the shadows, while trashing the whole Borosia nation (both Harmony Decree and Rambling Roses of Borosia) and escaping an ambush by the shadow creatures, the Graveshade Grandmasters.

Team History: lost in shadows
"I'm the Captain here, I'm the Captain there, you are just a f***ing idiot!", Krurger's screams could be heard from miles away.
"But the shadows...", just a whisper from Jaganzo's mouth...
"The shadows?", Philden continued, "All you need to do was to cross that damn TD line!"
"But the shadows... I couldn't see that...", again a whisper from Jaganzo...
No words from Kuska, just a mighty punch in Jaganzo's face that made him pass out.

Astonished for a shameful loss, with a comatose captain, the Wanderers sailed without a direction, without a leadership, just being adrift...
