The Death Crew is a team of professional flesh eaters who's main purpose is to spread the good news of a better life after death as a Crew zombie. Aside of this honorable time employment, they also play blood bowl... well, at least the werewolves do! The team assembled in early 2014 to support Hector Merguez the werewolf when it became obvious the poor dog couldn't compete all alone. The general manager then put under contract competent looking but very cheap zombies (though some will argue it's better to be more competent than you look than the opposite). The few first games saw the opponents go after all the team's talent, shamelessly crushing and squeezing it out of the players... and in the process forging the team's personality. The Crew is now associated with a casual "hunting for lunch" playstyle. After winning the season XXV championship, we upgraded our old motto "One zombie step at a time!!!" to "MLS' Freshest team!!!". Championship subscription was renewed season XXVIII ! *** SEASON XXVIII <<<!!!!! MLS CHAMPIONS !!!!!>>> Standing : 4 (4-0-2) "No draws allowed" did hurt a lot The Crew as it never practiced overtimes and traditionally made draws part of it's game strategies. Hopefully, draws will be allowed again next season, letting The Crew "give all it's guts" in first half. The semi-finals was a 2-0 win against Callas followed by a 2-1 win against The Diggers. Lucky were we that The Diggers eliminated The Rabids in first round ! SEASON XXVII Standing : 1 (3-2-1) The season was a fun though uneven one ! The Crew finished first because, in it's unevenness, it was the less uneven team around. The finals 1st round saw The Crew trash FC Calla 3-0... but our favorite undead team bowed once again to the Rabids, losing it's finals game 1-2. SEASON XXVI Standing : 1 (5-1-2) It definitely was a fun ride for The Crew ! We started with a victory against our oldest enemy, the Walkers... and even managed to beat the WAAAGH! while being beaten by them ! A 3 win streak gave the Crew their second 1st place in the standings. Sadly, an unimaginative game couldn't get The Crew past the Rabids' defense in the playoffs. Constancy (and not consistency) is the key, it seems. SEASON XXV <<<!!!!! MLS CHAMPIONS !!!!!>>> Standing : 2 (4-0-3) The season started rough with a loss to the WAAAGH! Then it got better with a series of win against OBBA's Null Teams. A few more not so bad games netted The Crew a place in the championship. The semi-final was a 2-0 showdown against the old and almost retired Pounders. The finals was a 2-0 win against the tough Gladiators. Our new motto: MLS' FRESHEST TEAM !!! Not so bad for some wet undeads. SEASON XXIV Standing : 2 (4-2-1) Very good season with a single loss against the Pounders (again!). The team also grabbed a draw against the Walkers in season but ended up losing to them in the MLS semi-finals. The Crew is *this* close to becoming a force to be reckoned with ! SEASON XXIII Standing : 4 (3-1-3) The Crew finished in the top tier, only losing games to it's old Walkers, Pounders and Chimps rivals - all teams that finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The leadership is very proud of it's achievements considering it uses mainly rookie Wolves and Wights. In playoffs, the Crew won the quarter finals against the Congs before bowing to the Pounders. The future is promising but we'll need a mighty ton of fingers crossed ! SEASON XXII Standing : 7 (1-1-4) The season started with a win followed by a draw against the Seattle Pounders then all went straight to hell. The Crew's werewolf star Hector Merguez retired after a closely fought 1-2 defeat against the Rats, quickly followed by the other Crew's werewolf star Chad Barkson. Beloved star-wight Justin Theram was also force-retired and Hector Merguez, a werewolf reincarnation, also died after a mere two games. Struggling for cash and victories, the Crew definitely is in a new reconstruction era. SEASON XXI Standing : 4 (2-4-1) A correct season for the Crew who managed some highlights like winning a shootout against the quick and over-agile Dynamo Rats by a score of 3 to 2... not many teams can brag the same. Sadly, the Crew's players too often forgot that drawing a game isn't the same as winning it. Maybe, one day, if the zombies somehow manage to put a bit more spirit into their game... SEASON XX Standing : 1 (3-1-1) After many opponents dropped out of the division because of a devastating infection spread by the Crew, the team went on to finish first in it's division. The Crew vanquished without any honour or glory. SEASON XIX Standing : 8 (0-3-7) After a disastrous start dealing with horrifying injuries during the "friendlies", the team went on to lose almost every game except for a few draws. Gladly, by the end of the season, the team had nearly recovered... nearly is a key word, here. |
