Nemesis Demons


Almost bankrupt Coach Longshanks has returned from a long retirement. With no-one else prepared to back a has-been degenerate he has sold his soul to the Devil. At their 'request' he has turned his back on the namby-pamby, pass-y, throw-y, dodgy nonsense that marked his first foray into SWL. That naivety has gone and a focus on death and destruction is to be the hallmark this time around. Dark powers have agreed to provide demonic underlings to fill out the roster. The stakes are high; become a SWL legend or die trying.

Will the threat of repeated beatings with fluffy dice galvanise the team? Will they embrace the new play style? Will anyone care? Only time (a great deal of time probably) will tell.

This reporter has it on good authority that coach Longshanks is furious at being overlooked for SWL coach of the year award. In a vitriolic attack during an interview on CabalTV Longshanks is quoted as saying "It's preposterous that I have not been recognised. Only fools and horses could deny my credentials". He goes on to accuse league officials of bias, bribery and sheep-shagging. "I have launched a 'Demonic Commission of Enquiry' and the guilty will be exposed. I can assure my adoring fans that I will stop at nothing, including sheep deprivation if necessary, to see justice done."

Trial of Blood1/3/4
In the pre-season the novice Demons were up against much more experienced teams and struggled to compete. They dished out more casualties than they took (8/9/5 vs 7/3/6) but four deaths in one game vs San Andres Jaguars was a huge setback to their development. The loss of their starting team ogre, Colddark, was particularly painful. As a result they go into their first regular season game with only 2 big guys and conscripting four journeymen.
LX May Be A Price to Pay Regional1/0/5
A predictably poor finish managing only 5 touchdowns and conceding 14. Their sole win was courtesy of a forfeit and they weren't able to assert any dominance on the casualty front either (8/3/2 vs 7/4/2 ). The demons were out-gunned in every match and had to rely on conscripts to fill out the roster throughout the season. One positive was their replacement Ogre Paris Hilton who joined mid-season and showed early potential as a blocker.
LXI Big Daddy Cool Regional2/0/5
A season of firsts. First 'real' win, first time they fielded a full 11 man team (round one) and a positive casualty difference {+5). The Demons managed to beat out a goblin team for the wooden spoon in 'achieving' a 2/0/5 record. The most notable (?) game was in round 4 vs Ogrepaid Ogresexed Ogrehere who stole a win with an extraordinary last turn touchdown from a seemingly impossible position. The team head into their 3rd season with a decent sized roster although the marauders are still lamentably unskilled.
LXII Jetta Regional4/1/2
Despite an embarrassing loss to goblins, the Demons manage to achieve their best placed finish thus far. Maintained a positive casualty and touchdown difference and suffered no deaths!. Our first mino Bloodmane retired after suffering a season-ending injury in game 6. We are promoted to conference!
