While the Palmerston family did not invent the art of naval Blood Bowl diplomacy, they may safely be said to have perfected it. In their heavily modified P-class corvette, they bestride the globe, dispensing Blood Bowl, trade, diplomacy and brute force to allcomers.

The Blockers are recruited exclusively from the extended Palmerston family, who know full well that the threat of force is nearly as effective and pleasing as its judicious deployment. Almost being the operative word.

The Catchers are the dashing young things of the ship's company. Persistent rumour has it, however, that their peak performance does not always live up to expectation.

The Throwers are the token diplomats of the party, outmoded old fogeys who still believe that a good chinwag is as productive as a well aimed shell to the roof of the Sultan's palace (a Palmerston family speciality). They have their uses, however, not least when they dress up in full regalia to impress the natives.

The Linemen are recruited from the minor gentry and other dregs of Ulthuan society. Not for them a life of indentured servitude at court, bowing and scraping to the likes of Milord Tekpis and Milady Pistek. Far better a life of adventure sailing the ocean blue and playing Blood Bowl in places far flung.

[Editor's Note: The existence of fabled lands (the Lost Isles of Elithis) somewhere to the antipodes of Ulthuan has long been rumoured by its bards ("last, loneliest, loveliest" etc.). According to recent court gossip, the Palmerston family have not only discovered these lands, but have secretly (and of course in flagrant breach of law and protocol) established colonies in their family name in both main islands. We ask you, Dear Reader, to treat this scurrilous tittle tattle with the obvious contempt that it deserves.]
