Bretonnia are the first conference to finish Round 4 and line up for their final games, and the league has scrambled together their official analysis of What Is Going On In The Final Round? There is exciting stuff going on at the top and bottom of the Conference!

Bretonnia Conference

The Nilfheim Lumberjacks have their second conference title in their sights. A win in their final game guarantees it, while a draw makes it merely likely (with their superior tie-breaker score). A loss would mean they probably haven't won the division, but they are still likely to sneak into the Cup.

Next in the conference are the Serpents Coast Scavengers. They can win the title if they win their game, and the Lumberjacks either lose or draw (but they would need quite the tie-breaker turnaround for a draw to be enough). A draw makes it unlikely they will win the Conference, but it will probably be enough for a place in the Cup. A loss would put them in a very tricky position, relying on other results to go their way to stay within the qualifying places.

Athel Loren BBoDT and the Arkhan Faraohs are both in a similar position, vying for a spot in the Cup but facing a higher place opponent in the last round. Basically, win and they are in - as long as all three teams on 5 points don't win! A draw could potentially be enough, but it would leave them looking very nervously over their shoulders. Losses would rule them out of the running for the cup. Athel Loren still have a decent chance at the Conference Title, too - if they can win their final game and reverse the tie-breaker deficit with the Lumberjacks, and hope for a draw or a small Faraohs win in the other game. The Faraohs can also technically win the title, but would need a big swing in tie-breaker points and a Lumberjacks loss for a shot at it.

The Elves of Albion and the Wasteland Vagabonds face each other in the last round, both safe from relegation and with eyes on the final spot in the Challenge Cup. The Elves are in a better position: a draw, combined with Athel Loren and Arkhan both losing, would see them finish third. However, either the Elves or the Vagabonds could sneak in with a win, but they would still need the Lumberjacks and the Scavengers to win (or at least draw) their games. Whoever loses this one is guaranteed a spot in the Inter-Conference Shield team.

Sylvania Rises are the first team looking down instead of up. They are not in danger of automatic relegation, but they could still be drawn into the Playoff spot. A win or a draw keeps them safe. A loss would very probably see them finish in the playoffs, especially because they have the second worst tie-breaker score across all Conferences.

They are facing Palinam Diadochi in the final round, who could still technically face automatic relegation if they lost by considerably more than the Malice. Playoffs are still a more realistic option, though. A win keeps them in the big leagues for sure, while a draw or a loss could mean they drop in to last or second-last place if the other game at the bottom finishes with a winner.

In the danger zone at the moment are Malice of Karond Kar and Frostheim United, who face each other for the second time in a row. Both are fighting for their lives: the loser in this game is likely to be automatically relegated, barring a disaster for Palinam Diadochi. If Malice win their game, they are safe from both automatic and playoff relegation. A draw will be enough if Palinam Diadochi lose; otherwise, they will enter the playoffs. For Frostheim, a win would probably also mean total safety, due to Sylvania's awful tie-breaker position. A draw, however, would put them at best in the playoff position, and if Palinam Diadochi win their game, would still see them automatically relegated.

Stay tuned for the Albion and Kislev updates...

Hey! leave my poor little vamps alone!!!

They thought they would try something new this season and sell all their armour and hit like little girls, needless to say the experiment has been a massive failure Razz

I'm kind of hoping that they do go down to Kislev to be honest as they need some building before getting back into the big leagues.

And the Lizards are out of the driver's seat!

Expats choke hard and repeatedly in Game 4, and instead of winning 2-0 (as it appeared they might have at one time), they lose 0-1.

That puts the Wasters in 1st and in control of their own destiny for the bye, altho' the Expats are likewise for the post-season, and with a win and a loss by the Wasters they regain the Bye (tie-breaker points are too far apart to be a likely route).

I don't want to talk about it atm, somebody else pour salt in my wounds.

Albion is going to the wire. There's a possibility of 3 teams finishing with a 3/1/1 record at the top of the table.

Albion were next to finish their penultimate round - here is What They Need To Do (tm). Plenty of teams can sneak into the Cup, even some with surprising records.

Albion Conference

Top of the table and with their destiny in their own hands are the Diseased Wasters, who are facing an all-nurgle affair in the final game. Win and they've won the Conference. Draw and they have probably won the Conference, unless the Expats can perform a 6 point tie-breaker swing. A loss could even be enough, if there are a number of draws below them. Whatever happens, they are in the Cup, and the conference title looks likely.

Behind them are the New Bretonnia Expatriates, who had previously been in the driving seat for the whole season (puts salt away). Their only real hope for the conference title is to win their game and hope the Wasters lose theirs. Any other combination (barring a big turnaround in tie-breaker points) wouldn't be enough. They need a draw to guarantee a spot in the Cup - if they lose, they could easily slip to 4th place.

The Uzkulak Pirates are in an interesting position. They could still realistically win the Conference, if they win their game, the Wasters lose theirs, and the Expats either lose or draw. Their tie-breaker score is close enough to mean that could be enough. A win would certainly guarantee them a Cup place, while a draw may be enough but would rely on the teams below them not picking up points (their tie-breaker score could help here). Lose and they are certainly out.

Lahmia Undead United face a similar prospect, but with less chance of winning the Conference (it is still possible, but would require a 4 point tie-breaker swing). A draw is unlikely to be enough for United to make it into the Cup - but a win also guarantees it. Make or break for them!

Two teams sitting on 4 points with an outside chance of making the Cup are Turov's Infected and Dark Lands Predators. Both could technically sneak in, but need a lot of things to go their way. First of all, they both need to win their games against higher placed opposition. Both would ideally prefer the Expats to win their game, but any result there could be enough. Turov's Infected need the Predators to win their game (but end up with a lower tie-breaker score), but the Predators would prefer the Infected to lose theirs. A draw or a loss would not be enough for either, but they are safe from relegation whatever happens.

The Barak Varr Goldlords have more reason to look down than up the table (what a fall from grace!). They can't make the Cup, but thanks to their tie-breaker score they are probably also safe from relegation. It is a mathematical possibility if they lose, but I would expect most Goldlord fans aren't worrying too much. A draw would confirm their place in the big leagues.

The Scalded Delta Dogz, however, have a real chance of getting dragged down into the bottom two places. A draw for them is enough to secure at least 8th place, but a loss would mean they would definitely be involved in the relegation playoffs, and may even find themselves in automatic relegation if the Cripplers can work a tie-breaker miracle.

They face the Pillars of Nagash, who are in even greater danger. A win keeps them safe. A draw would see them in the relegation playoffs at best, and if their is a tie-breaker disaster, they could drop to last place. A loss would put them in serious danger of automatic relegation, if the Cripplers were to win their game.

Finally, in last place, are the Dark Crag Cripplers. They are almost certainly going to be stuck in the Danger Zone no matter what they do. However, a win against the Goldlords coupled with a Pillars loss (or draw, if they can win by enough), would see them leapfrog the Khemri into penultimate place, avoiding automatic relegation at least. The relegation playoffs look a certainty, though, thanks to the worst tie-breaker score across all three Conferences.

Only Kislev left...

The game between the Scavengers and the Faraohs turned out to be one of the most one-sided affairs I have ever seen the Scavengers do. After an intensely bloody and casualty-ridden match against the 'Jacks (6-5 in casualties with 6 SI's (one apo-ed) and the killing of the famous Battle-Axe Nielson) that cost each of us the service of three players for the next match, the match against the Faraohs became even more cruel, because it was so totally one-sided. Eager scavengers went on a rampage and stopped only at 6 casualties, 2 SI's and one kill. KO's were also abundant. I really feel sympathy with the Faraohs Coach, who did what he could, but caused no casualties and had literally little or nothing to work with after a while. Scavengers are on the prowl, and may win the conference if AthelLoren can win against the battered 'Jacks. All our players are back, and we are ready... for another semi-final loss, most likely... Last up are the rookie teams from the Kislev Conference. This has probably been the most difficult set of explanations to produce, because so many teams are involved, and could all end on the same final points total! The tie-breaker scores will definitely be important...

Kislev Conference

The Gotland Gorers are top of the Conference and are guaranteed automatic promotion, no matter what else happens. However, they can also guarantee the Conference Title if they win. A draw might be enough, but they would probably need to improve their tie-breaker score in case the dwarves below them win. A loss is only ok if the 2nd placed team draws (if the tie-breaker scores remain roughly similar) or loses.

The second placed Karak Hirn Hammers can secure automatic promotion with a win or a draw. A loss wouldn't automatically knock them out, but would make things tricky if they lost too many tie-breaker points. They can still win the title if they can better the Gorers' result. A loss could even possibly see them drop out of the playoff places, although that would require a massive swing in tie-breaker points between them and their opponents (12!).

After the top two, there are four teams on four points, all of whom are fighting for the playoffs. Nothing is guaranteed for any of these teams - we could end up with 4 teams on 6 points with only tie-breaker points determining who comes second. However, for all these teams, losing is probably going to knock them out of contention. The Morts-Vivants de Mousillon are in the best tie-breaker position, and are facing top-placed Gotland. Lagoon of Tears and the Charnel Valley Chargers are playing each other - a draw would favour the skaven, but that would be a dangerous strategy that might see them both drop out of the promotion race. Finally, the Badland Bully Bandits have a real mountain to climb: not only do they have to win and hope that others slip up (an undead loss and a draw in the other game are ideal), but they have to face dwarves in their final game.

The BloodLords of Sylvania could technically sneak in (although nobody has seen the Vampires for a few weeks, which always makes people nervous). They would need to win their final game, hope both the Morts-Vivants and Bandits lose, and that the other game doesn't end in a draw (they would probably prefer the Skaven to win). Anything less and they remain in the Kislev Conference.

Finally, the Marienburg Magpies are playing for pride alone.

But remember, if there are teams dropping out further up the league, more teams might be promoted than predicted, so it is always worth getting a win in your final game!

That's it... end of the season for the Pillars... and they are not out of relegation.
After a good start and a TD we messed the line up (forgot the kicker) and game events just went all the wrong way and allowed a quick equalization.
We had seen it in the previous game and it turned out not so bad, but this time a double skull at the worse time and pouring armor rolls sealled the deal.
Not our best season sorry fans... kislev could be crunchy next season, but I hope we stay in the big leagues and just play better Smile

A week left in the final round! Get your games arranged if you haven't already!

In Albion, Uzkulak Pirates have made it into the cup. One of the New Bretonnia Expats and Lahmia Undead United will be joining them and the Diseased Wasters, who still have a fight on their hands to confirm the Conference win. At the bottom end, Pillars of Nagash will be involved in a relegation scrap of some sort: Dark Crag Cripplers are battling to make it into the playoffs at their expense.

In Bretonnia, there is only one game left to play, but it is the title decider. Can the Nilfheim Lumberjacks steal it from the Scavengers, or will Athel Loren take the Elves of Albion's place in the Cup? At the bottom end, the vamps of Sylvania Rises have decided to retreat back to Sylvania (easilyamused will be staying on though, with his cool new human team), which means they take the automatic relegation spot, and Frostheim United get a reprieve - they will be entering the relegation playoffs, rather than automatic relegation.

In Kislev, the Gotland Gorers remain unbeaten this season, but it may not be enough to win the title: the dwarves of Karak Hirn can still steal it from us. The Morts-Vivants look like they are into the playoffs.

Final Standings in the Albion Conference

Congratulations to the Diseased Wasters for winning the Conference. It is always nice to see teams winning a Conference for the first time, and as the only undefeated team in the division, they certainly deserve it.

In 2nd and 3rd place respectively were the Uzkulak Pirates and Lahmia Undead United. All three teams will be going to the Challenge Cup. The Pirates now become the team that has been involved in the most consecutive Challenge Cups - so congratulations to them. It is the first time in the Cup for both LUU and the Wasters.

The Albion Inter-Conference Shield team are, in order:
4. New Bretonnia Expatriates
5. Turov's Infected
6. Scalded Delta Dogz
7. Barak Varr Goldlords
8. Dark Lands Predators

Some heavyweight names involved there! They have a total of 24 points (tiebreak of +4.5), which will help decide whether they get first or second choices in the Shield competition.

The Pillars of Nagash will be playing in the relegation playoffs, in an attempt to stay in the big leagues next season, while the Dark Crag Cripplers are automatically relegated and will feature in the Kislev Plate. (All relegations are pending decisions on teams staying/leaving the league)

There are still five days left in the round for the final Bretonnia game to be played (which will decide the conference), and there are a couple of Kislev games that will hopefully get played before the deadline.

In another bloody showing, the Nilfheim Lumberjacks claim the Bretonnia conference title with an astonishing +11 tiebreaker after beating the BBoDT with 2-1 (5-0).
The norsemen are riding a river of blood into the Challenge Cup with an average of 4.4 cas per game. Will they get their revenge on the Pirates in the semifinal for last season's openinground fiasco? Time will tell.

It was a brutal game. BBoDT's cause was more or less lost already after a quarter of the match. The team suffered 6 cas, among them a skilled WD, who was mortally wounded after being piled upon.
Coach Meanandugl was still in shock shortly after the game. He readied the team without hiring a replacement for the killed WD. Next in line to slaughter the woodies are the Expats. This will be a 480k uphill struggle for BBoDT, and without any tackle likely a very onesided game. It is not yet known if coach and team will take an extended break or completely withdraw from OWCC after the match.
