Coach Meanandugl was still in shock shortly after the game. He readied the team without hiring a replacement for the killed WD. Next in line to slaughter the woodies are the Expats. This will be a 480k uphill struggle for BBoDT, and without any tackle likely a very onesided game. It is not yet known if coach and team will take an extended break or completely withdraw from OWCC after the match.

Ouch! Well, they are here to "beat bash or die trying", so I hope they decide to stick around (especially for at least the three inter-conference shield games). They've done well in their first season in the big leagues!

Final Standings in the Bretonnia Conference

Next to finish the league section of the season is the Bretonnia Conference. Topping the table after a brutal campaign (causing 22 casualties) are the Nilfheim Lumberjacks, winners of the Albion Conference and Challenge Cup in Season V. Congratulations on the second conference win!

In 2nd and 3rd place respectively were the Serpents Coast Scavengers and the Elves of Albion, who progress to the Challenge Cup. The Scavengers have made it to the semi-final of the Cup for the past two seasons - can they take another step or two this time around? Meanwhile, the Elves are appearing in the Cup for the first time, and in their first season in the main divisions. Well done to both of them, and best of luck to everyone in the Challenge Cup this season.

The Bretonnia Inter-Conference Shield team are, in order:
4. Athel Loren BBoDT
5. Arkhan Faraohs
6. Wasteland Vagabonds
7. Palinam Diadochi
8. Malice of Karond Kar

A very elfy team, but with some heavy support. As a group, they amassed 21 points, which is less than the Albion team. They will therefore pick the match-ups in the third round of the Shield competition.

Sylvania Rises were due to appear in the playoffs, but they have decided to pack it in and return to their cushy Sylvanian castles, so they will instead take the automatic relegation spot. That means that Frostheim United will instead be spared automatic relegation, and will enter the relegation playoffs this season.

One final game left in the Kislev Conference, and three days left to play it!

No worries mate. I was not familiar with the modus of the IC shield games. If it takes 3 games to end the season the proper way BBoDT will play these games.

Final Standings in the Kislev Conference

Final conference to finish the league section of the season is the Kislev Conference (with a couple of forfeits forcing the matter).

At the top of the table, and promoted to the big leagues next season, are the Gotland Gorers. In second place, and going up with them, are the Karak Hirn Hammers.

Finishing third and fourth, and technically making the playoffs, were the Charnel Valley Chargers and Badland Bully Bandits. However, the Chargers are dropping out this season, which means that the fifth placed team, the Morts-Vivants de Mousillon take their place.

Everyone else, along with 1st and 2nd place and one team from the upper leagues, have been added to the Kislev Plate.

The cups are now active, good luck to everyone involved!

In a very onesided affair the Lumberjacks keep riding their river of blood into the cup final, with Bjorn the Logger killing both Siemon and Tomas Bot, causing the Pirates coach to throw in the towel.

The Pirates drowned in a perfect storm of Nuffle. I didn't mind losing or the dead clawpomb but that dead ball carrier was the straw that broke the camel's back. It was a joke of a game.

So, it's the former champions the Nilfheim Lumberjacks against Lahmia Undead United for the Challenge Cup this season. An undead team has won the Cup before, back in the very first season, but this is the furthest Lahmia have got before.

What are your predictions for this one?

Both coaches are solid, very good w/ their teams.

Both coaches are being cagey, and neither has Readied their teams. LUU is currently down 320 TV + a Norse skill tbd (on their Superstar zerk) - less if they hire someone outright (like another Wight), but more if the 'Jacks hire a new Ulf to replace the rookie one that's MNG. But ~300, which could be almost anything. And altho' they have no Ag 4, a Wiz could be money combined with their Ag 3 SH Blodgestepping ghoul.

Plus, LUU has a kicker (which the 'Jacks do not), and a St 6(!) Blocking Guard.

However...

The 'Jacks DO have Ag 4 - in fact, a twin pair of +Ag Blodgestepping Runners. And their own Guards (more mobile than LUU's), and a DP to burn, and a St 5 Blocker to match LUU's Mummies.

So, right now, I have to lean toward the 'Jacks, b/c of those ballhandlers.

And... Shield update!

Heartbreak City for Albion! Expats lose a 2 pt game in post-OT coin toss!

The Khemri no-MB bash was on fire, couldn't stop them, and still the outnumbered Lizards came within a hair of scoring twice. After the OT, it was still 0-0 - and the Faroahs won that coin toss.

https://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=3613183

A good game, if a painful way to lose. Grats!

And that alone puts Bretonnia up 7 points to 1, with 4 games remaining (including another worth 2 pts) and "10 pts" being the goal. :/

(Edit - 7:1 pts, correct, thx gjopie!)

I think they are only up 7-1 - which means the second 2 pointer this round is crucial to keeping the competition going into the final round.
