Ok, I'm curious (treat this as a new year's survey, if you will).

Do you coaches out there care about the names of your opponent's players?

The site rules disallow numerical player names (eg, 1,2,3 etc), but do you find it less enjoyable to play vs a team of "vrhl", "utfn", "mmmn", and their friends, or do you prefer to play a team with proper names that fit some type of team fluff? Is it more enjoyable to kill "Ragnar the Mighty, son of Bjork", or could you care less? Is the "sploosh" of "nbft4" as satisfying as smooshing "Elfchild the Beloved"? Do we like seeing "gfat2" in the TOP PLAYER lists, or does it make you feel as if some part of you just died of sadness?

Let the fun begin!

Pyth

All menz must be named! Tradition and history are what separate us from the animals!

That said, scan the top lists, you won't see many garbage names.

It's odd.

I don't care when I'm playing.

I do care when I'm speccing.

If it's league then I care a great deal, but league is a different animal than R or B as far as expectations for fluff should go.

My favorite is when a coach reports his opponent's team during the match for violating the naming rules. Then if that opponent gets disconnected, he cannot rejoin the match Very Happy

Yeah, names are important. Sometimes it might feel a chore to name that nine-thousandth rookie, but he/she/it's someones son/daughter/other - not a number!

Without names, you might as well just be rolling dice against a spreadsheet. Ugh!

Really there's no excuse at all. Random name generators are easy to find and use. Someone even made a script to input names directly into the buy player window, for Nuffle's sake.

Who was that again, anyways? Internet cookie for that man
