Yes, FUMBBL fans we are hours away from the most anticipated Majors finals in years. The fans are stoked and the passions are running high amongst the two teams fan base and they are energized as they should be.
The story line for this finals match is legendary. First off we have Humanities first ever finals match. Red Corsair is looking to become the first human team in the history of FUMBBL to win a major. 6 Times before a Human team has made the semi final of a major but the 7th time is the charm.
They will be facing off against uusiverikulho, who have big stakes in this match also. They won this years Warpstone open and if they should win will become the 6th team in the history of FUMBBL to win 2 majors. Also, only 3 other teams have won 2 majors in one season. So they are fighting to join that elite group of teams. Furthermore there are still 2 more majors left in this season. They keep the run going, get some magic going in the LC. They will then tie for most major wins and become the 3rd team on FUMBBL to ever win back to back majors.
So, as you can see there is a lot on the line for the winner in this finals match. Corsair looking to finally win a major for Humanity and go into history as the greatest Human team of all time. And uusiverikulho is looking to shred up the Majors record book and scratch their name on all the All Time Top records for major performance.
Looking at the match up on paper and this should be a close match. Corsair is not overmatched big time in this one and has some assets on the team that gives them the edge in a few phases of the match. Right off the bat the big choice is how do the Corsairs spend that inducement cash? They do not have enough to spread it out and I look at it as they only have 2 choices.
They go with the wizard, hope it comes up golden and break the game open on a defensive turnover.
OR
They go conservative and take 2 babes, make the Nurgle Scumm CAS them off the field and then take a dirty trick and hope it comes up good.
For the match itself, the uusiverikulho plan is simple and straight forward. Nurgs are going to Nurg and until you can stop us from nurging well we keep nurging you and win this match. It is a very simple and straight forward game plan that is hard to beat.
The Corsair game plan, well, it is not as simple as the Nurgs are going to Nurg plan. They have a lot of tactical choices to stop uusiverikulho in this match. I think there are 2 plans of attack that give them the best shot.
Before I get into the 2 plans there is one thing that must happen every turn if possible. Any time the CPOMB pestigor is on the ground you send in the DP boot. Even if it is a no assist foul you have to give him the boot, every stinking time, relentless and never ending. And then once he is done for you start repeating on any other Pestigor or Nurgle Warrior.
Now to the 2 plans to take down the Nurgle scumm. The first has high risk but good reward. We will assume the CPOMB Pesti is going to play hit and run all match. So you tie down all the nurgle warrior and BoN with linos, keep good spacing on the tie downs and try to separate them. Turn this match into 3 Pesti and some rotters against your 4 blitzers and ball hawking linos. The problem is if the Nurgs start to Nurg your linos who are locking them down will not be with us that long.
The second tactic is the spread them out, stay out of base contact and just play hit and run with the CPOMB pesti, looking for a hole and going all out to exploit any opening that should appear. This plan will most likely end the match in 1-1 tie and overtime. But, heck is that bad?
We are a few hours away from kick off and the fans have arrived early and often to the stadium. It is a party atmosphere around here and this finals match should live up to the billing as one of the greatest Majors finals of all time.
Here we go FUMBBL fans my bold prediction. Nurgs do not Nurg and get outplayed by the humans as they deftly out maneuver them at every turn, get a defensive turn over which turns the match on its head and the Corsairs hold on for a 2-1 VICTORY!!!!!!!! |

** Breaking news from the GLT **
The Blood Sea Buccaneers are in town supporting the Corsairs. They are hanging out on the "row", hosting a massive party that is boiling out into the streets.
Coach Hicksey has declared: IF the Corsairs win the match the BSB will donate $50 to FUMBBL in honor of all the Human J-man who have died in the quest for Humanities first ever major victory.
He also has placed a bounty out on all the Nurgle scums heads. Dead Rotter 2$ each, dead Pestigor $5, dead CPOMB Pestigor $10, Dead Nurgle Warrior or BoN $15.
If the Nurgle Scum should win..FUMBLL gets nothing because they support slave hobgoblin labor in the manufacturing of their FUMBBL T-shirts in the badlands. Also when ever he hears a fan yelling out "Nurgs are going to Nurg" it drives him up the wall and if the Nurgle scumm wins that is all he is going to hear for months. |

Corsairs have taken the field one hour before the match to loosen up, toss the ball around and sign autographs from the fans. The stadium is almost filled up early for the match and the fans are already getting buff rowdy in the endzones.
Up in the suites the Emperor himself has shown up with a throng of nobility from across the empire and beyond. I have just found out that Gromstomp "Limb Render" is up there with all the nobility. No clue how a big lug like that got an invite. He must be the comic relief or some such.
Kick off in about an hour. So make sure to run down to the corner store and get your 12 pack of beer or 1.75 of whiskey and sit back and enjoy history. |

** Breaking news from the Dungeons under the Altdorf Old Bowl **
uusiverikulho it seems has pulled out all the stops before the big match. It is being reported that the dungeons below the stadium have ooze dripping from the flagstone walls, slime is forming up in the cracks on the floor and a pestilence fills the air. Already it has been reported that 17 greens keepers have succumbed to the toxic fumes and are dead. In a conflicting report they are not dead but are now rotters.
I have also found out that there is a high priest of Nurgle in the locker room with 3 skaven plague censor bearers performing rituals so dark that I cannot speak of them.
Outside the dungeons it is being reported that imperial guard are on hand and a unit of witch hunters stand ready. There are reports that uusiverikulho is attempting to bring in the greatest of all trump cards to put them over the top: A GREATER DAEMON OF NURGLE!!!!!!
At this rate the game is going to turn into a major let down. We want to know what kind of Chaos breaks out before the match!!!! |

uusiverikulho has taken the field for pre match warm up and I have to say they look serious, deadly serious in their stares at the Corsairs. We are talking serious bodily harm is on their minds.
The fans did get a laugh when 8 gnomes "streaked" the center line with a banner protesting Gnomish oppression in the Mootland. They were chased off the field, corned in the endzone and beaten bloody senseless. All kinds of fun here in the pre match. |

Well the teams have headed to the dug outs. Refs are talking to the team Captains to sort out what will constitute as a foul and so forth. Informing them that Bribes for final matches is now 150K instead of 100k.

Nurgs did not Nurg, looked pedestrian, like chumps and the Corsairs jumped all over them and just beat them down, beat them up and made them look, just, bad. |
