Tidings, sprintARRs! Welcome to this heARR the 19th(!) season of ARR Very Happy From a throne built on the bones of orcs and dorks we can survey the battlefield that is the box and look back on another yeARR survived!

But this season, like all othARR seasons, is not a time for resting on laurels, but in raising ARRselves to the challenge. And raising moneys too! We'll be running a few events that ARR designed to try and get some donations fARR the site, the fARRst of which is already proving a massive success... But more on that furthARR down!

Our season has been up and running now for almost a week and we've already got some near-completed sprints! Let's take a look at the front runnARRs!

The Main Sprint
Image
In fARRst place... Miceycraft's Mighty Mootlings! Yes 'flings! It is the season for it Very Happy (this and every other one). The Mootlings lead the way, stomping imperiously where others feARR to tread, racing away to a vARRy, vARRy healthy 34pts (5/5/4) after 14 games. Seriously impressive, perhaps setting an example Wink

Image
In second place - oldrow's Wasteland mutant chicks! Welcome back oldrow, it's been a while Smile The Mutant Chicks come back and settle right back into the UndARRworld groove - some heavy casualties on both sides of the field and some unpredictable results and plays! Five games to go for a completed sprint for the girls, they sit on 25pts (4/2/5)

Image
In thARRd place so far, Quarion8's Little Cult of Death. They've had some rough draws so far these little ones, but no complaints from them - they embrace the death. Sporting some of the best trees I've seen for some time, the cult has also shown they can win without them (over our no1 team no less). More 'flings setting a pace 24pts (4/1/6)

The Stunty Sprint
Given the time of year and the racial breakdown of that early top 3, it should be no surprise to anyone that the stunty sprint expected to be a hotbed of activity. Jdmickleburgh's Turkey Stuffers lead the Ogre sprint on 15pts (3/1/1), racking up the sort of early results that would've probably assured them winning it in some previous seasons. Apojar's Greenveland Browns lead the Goblin sprint, having played 6 games and currently possessing a 50% win rate over them 15pts (3/0/3). For the 'fling leaders, look above! Wink

The UnbelievARR Sprint
So for anyone who is unawARRe of this, I will quickly recap! The unbelievARR sprint is, basically, a fundraising opportunity where a coach who is not traditionally associated with ARR group takes up the mantle of sprinting with (historically) a stunty team, or teams in order to garner donations for the site. This season our sprinter is none other than the esteemed PurpleChest (you may know him from several dwarf teams), who will, as of the time of posting, be sprinting with both halflings and goblins. There are still possible stretch goals to aim for here, although I would hesitate to suggest anything that actually adds races to his task - perhaps restricting use of "certain other races", or suggesting targets/goals for his stunty teams is the way forward Smile Either way, I would still encourage all to donate and show both support for the site/Christer and PC's sprint.

For full details (and fluff!) and some comments from the man himself, head over to the blog!

Current list of pledges
Jdmickleburgh ($20, plus $10 for each dorf team PC's flings face)
Jellybelly ($15)
cdassak ($20)
happygrue ($10)
keggiemckill ($50) (!)
Timetis (10€)
Bigf ($10)
DrPoods ($5)
Miceycraft ($10)
c9805222 ($5)
Superlynx ($10)
thebursar ($12)
Verminardo ($10)
Valen ($30)
pokrjax (£5)
SpecialOne ($10)
BlackOrc ($10)
ArrestedDevelopment ($10) (all of above from here
Lorebass ($8-$10) (pledged here

Running total so far ~$270
+ $11 from thoralf for Keggie's dorks Wink
+ $10 from manzoo if anyone can perm/kill PC's fanatic
(lemme know if my math is off!)

A few of these have already been paid up, and a few will wait to see our hardy volunteer fill his games no doubt. Cheers to all who've pledged (or even went so far as to donate already) so far Smile

-----

And so this season is well and truly underway! Best of luck to all and keep your eyes peeled for more events! Smile

Our intrepid sprintARR has started both races!

PC is currently 3/0/0 with his goblins, starting brightly!

The flings are 1/0/0 but have sustained nasty damage in game 1. Choices ahead.

Maybe I should've made the poll "Can PC win an ARR (racial) sprint?" Wink

PC has continued the flings! And played a further two matches with them.

Both losses, although considering one was with one tree and the other was vs Dwarves (*ding* jdmickleburgh) we won't hold that against him. He did however not learn about tempting Nuffle and has retained the word brittle in his tree's name. Lordy.

So both the 'flings and the goblins are sitting on 3 games Smile

A fine start. And played in the right spirit.

I would have retired about 8 teams by now! Very Happy

PC has completed the unbelievARR sprint, to save myself typing it all again, i'll simply direct you to the blog here for details if you missed his own blog about it.

The ARR season is now almost 3 weeks old, and we've got 7 completed sprints with quite a few more not far off! Nice work people, looks like things might be quite tight when the mid-season update comes Very Happy

The Main Sprint (so far)
Image
First place is PurpleChest's Goblins! The Covenant of PC, UnbelievARR racked up the wins early on and pressed through the last few games to rack up a very impressive total. It may have been one half of PC's dual initiation into stunty teams in box, but he took to it like a duck to water and rose to the challenge. As his team did - they lead the main ARR sprint by a whole 1 point!(9/4/3 47pts)

Image
In second, the first of two High Elf teams chasing - chaoszwerg2001's Hospital Heroes finished up a real nice sprint containing 10 wins. But courtesy of all the non-wins being losses, the elves finish a whole 1pt behind the goblins! They'll be looking over their shoulders too, because amongst the chasing pack for the main ARR sprint is a team who'll be looking at the HE sprint too! (10/0/6 46pts)

Image
In third so far... DrPoods' Walkens of Choice, another bunch of pointy eared prancing, er, elves! Rumours of some sort of agreement between this lot and PC to "split the winnings" in a game, and a coach who is distraught to not have an mb blitzer have not dented the spirit of the Walkens, who continue to have a fever that requires more cowb-..activations! After a strong sprint, they sit on third due to the avg TV tiebreaker! (9/3/4 46pts)

Stunty Sprint
PC has this one so far, with the Goblins sitting on a mighty 47pts. Speaking of mighty - Miceycraft's Mighty Mootlings sit on 42pts having completed their 'fling sprint. Our Ogre contendARRs are JDMickleburgh's Turkey Stuffers who sit on 20pts after 8 games! This one is not over yet!

XFL Watch
Congratulations to cdassak's almighty goblin crew Holiday in Gombodia who stormed XFL XI and took it home in style! Proving that they are simply: Image

That's all for now, keep on keeping on and having fun!

weee final standings main sprint + stunty sprint...

Weee Happy new yeARR folks! Smile

The last month of 2016 and the first month of 2017 are finished, and with them, the last ARR sprint of 2016!

28 Completed sprints, moARR than last season, and the highest total in the last half of the yeARR! Great work membARRs, seeing in the new yeARR in style!

Let's get down to the awARRds!

Image
Chainsaw’s Pro Ettiquette, came out of absolutely nowhere as the season drew to a close, blowing past all rivals for the top spot. Equaling the recARRd for most wins (13) and becoming only the second Pro Elf team to win the ARR sprint (after Timetis' Rain Wild). Impressive stuff from a race most people regard as a one-stop shop for loner-filled games Wink (13/0/3 55pts)

Image
Okostomi’s Nuevo Ricos, last seasons winARRs, come home in second place. Another great showing from the High Elves, who have also been strutting theARR stuff in the FUBAR cup and are ARR's last hope! (and in the final). Hails and luck to a great coach and team! (9/5/2 48pts)

Image
DrPoods’s Walkens of Choice complete ARR top 3. MoARR pointy-eared frolickers. It was a very elfy season, with the top 5 all being elves of a kind. But the Walkens kept themselves HighARR in the end, by simply winning their games... and completing their sprint. I heARR they have a snazzy logo and theme too. It all helps Wink (10/2/4 48pts below Nuevo Ricos due to TV differential).

...

Stunty sprint
Was taken in the end by our un... TRUE BELIEVARR Purplechest's Covenant of PC, UnbelievARR. Not only did this magnificient ba--, er great sport, raise a boatload of cash for FUMBBL, but he also completed a goblin sprint that for a long, long time looked like it might well actually win the full ARR sprint. In the end it was not to be, but they were still the best stunty team last season... by the skin of their teeth. (9/4/3 47pts)

Not far behind them though were the winners of the Ogre sprint! - Okostomi's PowARR to the people, came out for a winter rampage, and showed everyone that their coach is not just beholden to ag4 Wink The ogres smashed their way to a very impressive winning recARRd and second place in the stunty sprint! (9/2/5 45pts)

The fling sprint was also very eventful, with two teams dominating proceedings. In the end it was Miceycraft's Mighty Mootlings who deservedly took 1st place. A really strong sprint from the flings who have one of the most fearsome pieces of shrubbery in the box on display, and feARR no one! (7/5/4 42pts)

Full standings are available here

All othARR top ten finishers can claim their loot here:
Image
(That'd be Raughri's Tor Alessi Falcons, Gseize's Dirty Dancer, PurpleChest's Covenant of PC, UnbelievARR, chaoszwerg2001's Hospital Heroes, Nestoroide's Ranaldinhos Superstar team, Harad's Underworld Stations, okostomi's PowARR to the people.)

EvARRyone who completed a sprint (16 games) can claim this:
Image

And as always, we can’t be ARR without allowing some to lAARd it ovARR othARRs, so all top three racial finishARRs can claim the appropriate badge:
Image Image Image

If you wARR a brawl winARR in the last season (or previously but haven’t added the badge), then this one heARR is for you!
Image

New Season thread to be posted SOOOOOON, as well as final updates on fundraising activity! Thanks to all and good luck for this season!
