Black orc frenzy machine picks up 5th skill. rolls 11.

Was originally going to go with break tackle, but tempted to take 3AG.

Break tackle is better for its purpose, but 3AG is good all around.

the team

thoughts?

Break tackle imho. is not going to do many Ag rolls, isn't he?

I have to agree that I'd probably take BT, though you could still take that if he lives to Legend, which will give him even more mobility later on.

The question is, do you want to sacrifice an Ag4 dodge, for multiple Ag3 actions?

well, people tend to dodge away from him. 3AG would mean he can catch a pass and score too.

Break tackle means he can go for the riskier dodge to crowd surf.

Break Tackle.
For that specific player it's better to have a reliable 2+ dodge than 3+, although AG 3 works more than once, in theory.
AG 3 is too expensive compared to the number of times it's going to be used by a Black Orc.
That said, I would take either Stand Firm or Guard (probably Stand Firm to use Frenzy without fear of being surfed).

I'm also in the Break Tackle camp on this one.

I'll buck the trend, pal Wink

AG3 (and his MA+) basically makes him a ST4 blitzer with a movement break. Would you keep that player on your team? You're already bloated to all get out... Break Tackle does give you a slightly better chance at the few-and-far-between opportunities you would take to dodge into tackle zones. But that's not gonna change the way folks play against you. Having another big blitzer would, though.

(*EDIT*... all that being said, I'd likely consider Stand Firm before AG3 or Break Tackle Wink )

I'll third stand firm. With that you no longer have to throw up protection to prevent a counter crowd surf, except in the rare cases that the enemy has Juggernaut player in range, which is exceptionally rare.

MA5 AG3 is not really much of a scoring threat and is absolutely not worth blowing 40tv on when you've already got 4 players better at the job.

Stand Firm and if he makes it; Juggs or Tackle unless he rolls +ST. Ignore the AG and BT shouldn't be required. Block him free for when he gets tied up to use him for a useful Frenzy blitz. ST4, Frenzy, MA5 is great for owning the sideline and Juggs to later bust open Stand Firm Walls/cages/screens.

Team him up with Michael Griffin for the targets that are dodging away that you want to hit.

BOB + Normal, Normal, Normal, +MA, +AG =
80k + 20k + 20k + 20k + 30k + 40k = 210K

Blitzer (Block + -MA) Normal, Normal, Normal, +ST =
80k + 20k + 20k + 20k + 50k = 190K
1 less skill taken because he comes with Block.

SO... the people saying don't take AG3 are saying they would NOT be thrilled to HAVE a ST4 Blitzer just because he got -MA.
I DON"T BUY IT.
I say they are just looking at this inside the box.
Refusing to see this gift for what it is because it turns convention on its head.

You can't have the ST4 AG4 MA5 BOB or the ST4 AG3 MA6 BOB without taking the +AG.

And you cannot have the BOB with AG3 and SURE HANDS as you legend carrier... the same SPEED as a Thrower... with the AV9 and ST4.

And those are just the ideas off the top of my head. Didn't even consider what could be done with the DOUBLE.
(And forgot he had Frenzy... but whatever.)

STATS over SKILLS is the common mantra here... EXCEPT when you can make an Orc Blocker AWESOME?!?!
Don't choose BORING, Ark the Shark, choose AWESOME.
